Mr Salim is a one of a kind doctor - his genuine care, empathy, and understanding is unparalleled and I feel so lucky to have been in his care going through my egg freezing journey. The experience I had with Mr Salim and his team was night and day to a previous experience. Mr. Salim went above and beyond during the process to settle my worries and make sure I had a positive experience (knowing that I'd had a less positive experience previously) e.g., making sure he was the one to do my retrieval even though he wasn't on rota, making sure I always see him for my check-in appointments, and always embracing my (many) questions with a patient and kind response. I truly felt like he cared as much as I did about the outcome of my treatment and I will forever be grateful for him for getting me the 13 eggs he did! His nursing team take the same empathetic approach as every nurse I interacted with was kind, patient, and caring - not to mention incredibly responsive with communications over email. I would (and have been) recommend Mr Salim to any woman going through fertility issues, dealing with PCOS, endometriosis etc. He is the best out there and I wish only more gynecologists could be like him!

Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough

I had knee replacement surgery at the Practice Plus hospital at Barlborough on 29th November. The pain I experienced during the two weeks following the surgery on a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate at 8 to 9. Now that I am in my eight week of recovery my pain level is 1 or2 I had a problem in that during the first 2 weeks after surgery I was hardly able to sleep due to the pain when lying down and some nights I had zero hours of sleep. After discussion with the hospital pharmacist it became evident that one of the pain killing medicines I had been prescribed had insomnia as one of it’s side effects. After stopping this medication and taking an alternative my sleep pattern returned to normal and my recovery accelerated. From the experiences of friends who had undergone this surgery I knew that physiotherapy was the key to a successful outcome. The physiotherapy I received at Barlborough was exceptional. By following their exercise plans and receiving guidance at my follow-up visits I am now able walk for one hour virtually pain free, ride my static bike at home and if all goes well should be able to ride my bike on the road in a few weeks time. I recently completed a course of CBT sessions with Dr Sharon Pettit, focusing on managing my anxiety, worry, and rumination. When I first began, I struggled significantly with social interactions, often feeling socially awkward and fixating on past conversations. My mind would race with worries about things entirely beyond my control, pushing my anxiety levels to an all-time high. It felt like I was in a constant state of fight or flight, from the moment I woke up until I went to bed, leaving me completely drained. Now, almost six months later, I've gained valuable tools to help manage my thoughts and emotions. While I wouldn’t say I’m completely cured, I feel about 75% better and am now enjoying a much happier life. I've decided to take a break from CBT for the time being, but I'm committed to returning if I notice my anxiety levels rising again.

Mr Gill was very professional, kind in his manner and understood that my condition was affecting my quality of life as an active older person. He was very clear with his explanations as to the surgery he recommended and answered any questions that I had. I am now fully covered and getting back on with my busy life so overall I was very pleased with Mr Gill and his expertise. Dr Pavlidis saw me as I am in my late 50's and have high cholesterol levels and have done for many years, although my diet is good and I exercise regularly. He recommended that I started taking statins. I was sceptical of this at first, however, Dr Pavlidis made a logical and compelling case for doing so, which made absolute common sense. I have been on statins now for around 4 months, have had no adverse side effects, and my cholesterol levels have reduced significantly. It's one tiny pill a day but it could extend my life.

I chose galaxy lenses for my cataract surgery and am now very happy with the results. No need whatsoever for any glasses. The staff were all very kind and supportive, along with Mr Hove the surgeon who was quick and efficient with the procedure.
