I have had Cataract operations to both eyes January-March 2025. Things didn't start well when the Surgeon, in a 'telephone consultation' with me, committed to a price for the new lenses I would get. This was later overruled by the Management who told me the Surgeon didn't have the authority to agree a price with me. So I had to pay quite a bit more than I was originally told. As in some £400 per eye more. Amusing to observe how the 'care' (on the NHS, but sub-contracted to this private business) was promoted as being 'Exactly the same as Private Medical Care'. Oh no it wasn't ...it was much better. Once I was flagged up as 'potentially suitable for a PRIVATE operation' using Implants that were 'Not available on the NHS' I was treated very different. Previously done examinations were repeated 'to be sure'. Does that mean they are not sure if you are a NHS Patient? ;). Additional examinations 'not available on the NHS' were done. Am I being unfair? A short review would just say this: *Generally excellent professional friendly staff. * Medical care excellent. But.... Appointment waiting times need reviewing - I have always had to wait at least 45 min, sometimes more than on hour, before being seen. Why? If you depend on a relative or friend to drop you off and pick you up it sometimes got a bit difficult: Is this appointment going to take 30 Min, or 4 hours? Nobody knows. Admin/organization sometimes a bit confused - Why did I get an email survey for my right eye, and not for my left? Waiting in the corridor between different checks in different rooms a bit of a hit and miss - staff running around, folders being handed over, people sitting and waiting being missed, the order in which things were done got a bit confused sometimes, patients reminding passing nurses that others who arrived after them were seen before them. But all with good humor! But, in the end, I can see excellent again with both eyes - and that is what is really important.

From my initial appointment with Mr Hoo, I felt all my questions were answered and felt at ease, from the onset I knew I would choose Mr Hoo as my surgeon. I had done a lot of research for my procedure and felt reassured from my initial appointment. Pauline (Mr Hoo’s nurse) was also very informative and patient regarding any questions which I had. My surgery was booked and due to unforeseen circumstances had to rescheduled, Brenda in appointments was very helpful and offered me a cancellation slot which I was very thankful for. On the day of surgery, I was admitted into the admission pod and here all staff were attentive, I met with the anaesthetist and Mr Hoo and thereafter went to theatre. The theatre nurse and anaesthetist were so lovely, talked me through everything and I felt reassured. Thereafter, in the recovery ward, the nurse was excellent when asked about pain, I was immediately given pain meds which eased the pain and brought upstairs to a room which the excellent care continued. Mr Hoo came to see me and answer any further questions, truly 5* service from the onset. The hospital was spotless and attention to detail by all staff was exceptional.

I recently had a private consultation and subsequent operation with Dr Samuel Dobson, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. From the very first consultation, he immediately put me at ease. He was professional yet friendly, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout the process. Dr Dobson was extremely thorough and gave me every opportunity to discuss my symptoms and concerns. He listened carefully, answered all of my questions, and was incredibly reassuring at every stage. I always felt treated with the utmost respect and never rushed. My experience with Dr Dobson has been overwhelmingly positive, and I would not hesitate to recommend him. In fact, I have already recommended him to friends who have experienced similar issues or who have been struggling to conceive.

After a mole on my shoulder began to grow, I booked a private consultation with a specialist who had removed others by Crotherapy. He told me that he could only do it after the infection which had caused it to change, had been cured and prescribed a course of antibiotics. The infection increased after several courses of six different antibiotics which were prescribed by my NHS practice were not able to halt its progress. My daughter Annie convinced me to book an appointment at Essex Private GP. I was seen on the same day and the correct antibiotics to target the infection were identified and prescribed at my first visit. There is already a significant improvement, thank you.

We were lucky enough to get into the appointment before our allotted time. Mr Mohammad seemed like a very nice person, but I felt very rushed, I wasn’t shown the MRI scan, The situation was not explained to us in depth,just offered options of an injection or surgery involving “metal work” which scared me somewhat. So I chose the injection as seemed a less scary choice to start with. We were told this would be put forward, then we left , all taking about five minutes, not really very reassuring. Hopefully I may get another chance for someone to explain what the operation with the “ metal work” would involve. So I would feel more confident with what needs to be done

Private room badly refurbished from a two bed ward. Very poor heating system so room was cold and because there were three windows to the corridor, it could not be darkened - blinds ineffective. Bathroom newly refurbished but I was surprised there was no Arab douche facility or bidet. It is not acceptable to have to pull individual sheets of very poor quality toilet paper from a wall machine. There were shampoo bottles and body lotion but no soap bottles or dispenser. I know the NHS cannot compete with SJand E or the Wellington but I was dismayed by the standard. Care was good but rushed because of Christmas staffing levels.

I have been Sophie’s client for the last 6 months. In that time I have felt my relationship with food and my confidence in myself grow. She has helped me change the beliefs I hold about food and helped me on the road to recovery from anorexia. As an autistic person, I have struggled in the past with connecting with health professionals but Sophie adapts the sessions to meet my needs. She always sends notes after our sessions which is useful in making sure I keep track of what I should be doing.

Dr Stephan Brincat

Dr Stephan was patient to listen to my concerns, made sure he understands the full picture, walked me through the reasons for the proposed tests, and helped get the relevant tests to rule out CVD. Afterwards we discussed what would be an appropriate recurring monitoring plan, and what to expect if I change my diet. Also answered a bunch of questions/concerns regarding protein and creatine intake, and kidneys health. You'll both get great treatment and more understanding of your condition.

On my order I specifically asked for CAPSULES of paracetamol not Tablets. The turn around was quick but I realized when receiving 3 boxes of tablets no care had been taken to check the medecine. When I asked for a return label they asked for photos and description of the packaging of which I cant do . I'm over 90 and not familiar with taking photos and being a simple mistake in product I didn't understand. I will never use these people again and wil never recommend them. My order #

I’ve never liked the NHS GP system. Ten minutes feels rushed and it isn’t suitable for those who want to pro actively look after their health and longevity. Luckily I’ve had a great experience with Ezra / Zenvité. Being able to schedule an appointment online at a time / day suitable for my busy schedule is perfect. I’m also able to get any medication required delivered to my door. Having regular check ins gives me peace of mind that my health is in order.

Mr Rhys Thomas is a professional who is at the top of his game. i chose him after researching, and i was not disappointed. After he reviewed the results of the ultrasound, he physically examined me to assure himself of the findings. We discussed the options, and both agreed that a repair of my hernia would be the best course of action. The operation took place a few weeks later and was a success.

Booked in for BipolEP operation with Mr Miakhil on 3 Nov this year. I was naturally nervous but he put me at ease on the day and everything went well. I was catheter free after 48 hours and was able pee normally for the first time in years. My quality of life is so much improved following the procedure by Mr Miakhil

I found him rather brusque but I’m sure he was very capable and professional. He wasn’t happy to offer an opinion on whether or not I should proceed with surgery on my second eye but said it was my decision, which I did not find very helpful.
