Dr. Justin Garner

Dr James Garner is one of the most enthusiastic, professional Drs i have had the pleasure of meeting. He carried out my procedure in April and I remember him being so excited because within an hr he could show me the procedure was working, by showing me my xray results on his phone! I loved his enthusiasm and his obvious love of his job. I told him today, for me three valves has been life changingn mentally and physically for me. I no longer decline invitations out because I had to worry how many steps up, how far from car park to venue etc etc, i didnt want to feel embarrassed or a burden to my friends. More so i had to psyche myself up to go for a walk with my dog because of the stigma of my backpack( but that was in my head the majority of the time) I said to Dr Garner this has been life changing for me and it truly has! I can walk my dog for an hour and a half twice a day without my oxygen concentrator pack, I wear brighter colours again, I feel I have the " old" me back as I am now doing things and going places i havent been for years. Today was good news too... reduction of holding a litre in my lungs.! If someone said 4months ago you'd be walking down the Kings Rd, no oxygen, in the height of summer I wouldn't have believed them. Thank you for believing i was a suitable candidate and to Dr Garner for performing the procedure, explaining the 3 month test results back and for giving me this chance of a more fulfilled life.

I have always found Mr Garner to be extremely helpful, kind and reassuring to me during my illness. He was the very first person who contacted me from the Royal Brompton and I found his welcoming attitude very helpful after receiving results from another hospital that I had suspicious nodules in my lungs which would be difficult to treat.

I received really excellent care from Dr. Garner. In the initial consultation he took the time to explain the procedure to me in detail and answered all my questions with patience and consideration. On the day, he and his team at the Royal Brompton Hospital, did everything to make me feel at ease despite the strange surroundings. I felt I was in excellent hands and, in the end, the result was better than I had hoped. I am very grateful to Dr. Garner for his amazing care and skill - he is a physician of the highest order.

Yesterday I had my last appointment with Dr Justin Garner and I felt sad saying good bye to a wonderful and caring doctor. He made me feel that I was the only patient he was looking after and I am sure every one of his patients must feel the same. His explanations were clear and reassuring.

The visit was a regular annual visit. Dr. Garner is always very pleasant and enquiring about anything I may have a concern with. I have found Dr. Garner extremely helpful and efficient even with medical issues other than for Lungs.

Dr Garner was so clear in how he explained my problem. I had been very anxious prior to this visit but he put me at ease with his calm, gentle and kind manner. Everything was explained clearly. I was seen in clinic and it only took a couple of weeks from clinic to MRI to Dr Garner actually calling me to give me the results. For this I thank him very much.

I have nothing but praise and gratitude for Dr Garner, his positivity and kindness definitely helped me through this diagnoses and his knowledge and understanding helped me make the right choices regarding my surgery and follow-up treatment. Dr Garner is always happy to listen and explain what is happening. I feel I could not be in better hands, his positive attitude rubbed off on myself and my family. Knowing he is taking care of me for my surveillance checks after having a successful surgery gives all of my family great peace of mind. I honestly can't thank him enough.
