About Dr Charles Gordon
Dr Charles Gordon trained at St George's Hospital Medical School (London), graduating in 1995. He undertook his specialist training in Gastroenterology and General (Internal) Medicine in South West Thames, including research in Barrett's oesophagus. He was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in 2008
Dr Gordon was the Clinical Lead for Endoscopy (Royal Bournemouth Hospital/University Hospitals Dorset) from 2008-2021, and remains the lead for upper GI Physiology + upper GI endotherapyand is now lead for community endoscopy services in Dorset. He is an experienced endoscopist, both upper GI and colonoscopy,and regularly performs upper and lower GI therapeutics.
His areas of specialist interest include endoscopy, reflux disease, heartburn, hiatus hernia, colonoscopy and irritable bowel syndrome. He is recognised nationally for his work in Barrett's oesophagus (a pre malignant condition of the oesophagus) and introduced HALO RadioFrequency Ablation and Cryotherapy for the treatment of Barrett's oesophagus to Dorset. He performs endoscopic therapy for pre-malignant and cancer lesions of the oesophagus and stomach on a weekly basis.
In addition he has a specialist interest in upper GI physiology (the investigation of reflux/heartburn/oesophageal disorders), including STETTA therapy for reflux, and wireless pH tsting. He has huge experience in the investigation and management of functional bowel disease

I visited Dr Charles Gordon at the Nuffield this week and would highly recommend him. Dr Gordon was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and listened to me. He explained in an easy to understand manner my medical condition plus the results of previous gastropathies I have had. Dr Gordon devised a plan of action going forward which he instigated that day! Just wish I had made an appointment with him sooner.
Not knowing what I was going to encounter before the procedure, I was extremely happy with the information I received from Dr Gordon. Not only was the procedure explained fully to me but during both consultations before and after the procedure were simple to understand and left me in a much more understanding position as to where I go forward from here. A big thank you to Dr Gordon and his secretary for prompt replies to emails.
Dr C Gordon could not have been better. Discovering my gut brain interaction problem which I have had since my last Covid Jab over four years ago greatly restricting my life. His depth of knowledge was both enlightened and exceptional to find a solution to help me which he did from his forward thinking research. I can't express my gratitude enough for his help and kindness. I have no hesitation in recommending his professional services and I would also like to thank his secretary Lauren for all her help and kindness as well.
