My experience with Dr Rami Sweis has outweighed any previous expectations. He is a perfect gentleman, with all the time in the world for his patient. He explains your procedure in laymen terms, which you can fully understand. He is very punctual with his follow up zoom appointments. We will forever count our blessings for having Dr. Sweis treat our son. Having been diagnosed with a rare disorder, there were only a handful of specialists with the breath of knowledge and experience to be able to properly treat him. Dr. Sweis is one such specialist. However, because of our son's age(too old for pediatrics and too young to be treated as an adult), there was a great challenge in figuring out the logistics to be able to move ahead with the required procedure in a timely manner. Because of the complexity and rarity of our son's disorder, our first interaction with Dr. Sweis was when he was actually on holiday and he kindly agreed to take a call. Because of the fact that our son was in great discomfort where he was unable to eat or drink anything, as a family we were very worried and stressed. The added fact that it was believed to be a rare disorder made us even more worried. However, from the very first conversation we had with Dr. Sweis, he gave us absolute confidence that our son would be okay. He also knew that it would be difficult for us to get logistically through the process quick enough to get the procedure that would fix our son's issue. From there on, we witnessed what can only be described as pure passion as Dr. Sweis worked tirelessly to ensure that he would be able to personally do the procedure as quickly as possible. Being a renowned expert in the POEM procedure and the rare disorder(achalasia), where other professionals showed ambiguity or lack of clarity, Dr. Sweis took it upon himself to ensure that our son was able to get the best treatment possible, and he knew that he was the man to do it. That commitment and confidence, where he knew that our son would be just fine in his hands and that he needed to move as quickly as possible, is something that we as a family will never forget. Throughout the process, he was always smiling and speaking very frankly and friendly with us. He never once worried that our son would have any issue and ensured us that our son would get back to a normal healthy life very soon. When the procedure was done, he came out smiling and very quickly told us all went well. Since the procedure, and our son's path to a great recovery just as Dr. Sweis told us would happen, he has regularly been checking up on his progress. There are many great doctors out there whose job it is to treat their patients and they do an excellent job. Rare is the doctor that will show so much personal passion and commitment to his patients that they will quite literally step out of their normal routine to ensure that the patients are given the utmost care and attention. Even more rare is it to have such a doctor along with world class experience and skill at their craft. This is Dr. Sweis. We will be forever indebted to him.
