After many years of 'suffering' I finally feel that I've been listened to and understood. Everything was explained to me and I am now hopeful that the right solution has been found for my long term problem. I have the back up of being able to communicate directly with the consultant which is hugely reassuring.
I could not have asked for better. Sanjaya as he asked to be called was sympathetic, kindly, and caring but above all he was a true professional in all that he undertook in looking after me. He went over and above what he needed to do, leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that I was properly investigated for any problem. I felt in enormously capable and professional hands and that is after all what you want from your doctor.
My recent visit was a three month follow up to umbilical hernia surgery. Sanjaya talked me through the MRI and Ct scans which was very reassuring.
The experience was simply amazing Everything well explained no questions Just perfect can’t fail it on anything
Happy woth vist and consolation, straight forward advice and detailed follow up process
Mr Wijeyekoon was very professional and informative before and during my appointment with clear information about going forward. I would highly recommend seeing him if you have any concerns.
I consulted with Sanjay after I had seen a GP about a small but enlarging lesion on my chest. My GP had referred me to the local Dermatology Service, however, had told me that there was an extensive waiting list. Sanjay assessed the lesion and recommended that it should be removed. He excised it under local anaesthetic which left a small tidy scar. Histology results showed that it was a small skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma) which wouldn’t have been harmful to leave until the NHS could treat me, but it would have resulted in a larger scar due to the length of time waiting. Sanjay was kind, professional and clearly dedicated to providing a safe expert service
Sanjaya is very knowledgeable. He explains everything in plain English for you, the procedure went well and the cost was as quoted. This is the second time I’ve seen him and I would definitely use him again.
I went to see Sanjaya though BUPA. The experience I had throughout my treatment with Sanjaya was excellent. The explanations of my condition and what was required were clear and I felt comfortable that I was in safe hands. He made the whole process from scans to operation easy for me and my family always on the end of the phone if I have any quires about the process.
I felt very lucky to have met and been cared for by Mr Wijeyekoon and the team at Bournemouth Hospital, when I fell ill in early 2019. I was admitted to hospital via A&E and following tests it was confirmed I was suffering with Diverticulitis. Mr Wijeyekoon cared for me and treated me to get things under control so that I could return home ahead of any future treatment. Having recovered and things stabilising, Mr Wijeyekoon carried out further investigations as an Outpatient, to confirm my condition (which included additional complexities). It was decided to proceed with the Hartmann’s procedure and to give me a temporary Colostomy. Mr Wijeyekoon was brilliant throughout this process before, during and after the operation, providing excellent communication, care and support. I can honestly say that he really did care about me and my family. I was well looked after during my initial recovery and we kept in tough on a regular basis. Later that year after a number of checks and discussion it was agreed for me to have a full reversal and I received the same great level of care before, during and after the operation. I truly believe that my recovery and ability to cope with these procedures was in a big part down to how Mr Wijeyekoon communicated and supported me. I can’t thank Mr Wijeykoon enough.
Sanjaya Wijeyekoon is a trusted colleague. His clinical assessments are careful and comprehensive, and he has excellent operative skills
