Mr Karl Pang

Mr Karl Pang is a Consultant Urologist and Andrologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in London, where he serves as Clinical Lead for Male Infertility. He also holds an Honorary Associate Professorship in the Division of Surgery and Interventional Science at University College London.

Mr Pang manages a broad range of general urological conditions, including urinary tract stones and infections, raised PSA levels, and prostate cancer diagnostics, including transperineal prostate biopsy. His expertise also encompasses penoscrotal conditions such as phimosis, lichen sclerosus, hydrocele, epididymal cysts, varicoceles, penile and testicular cancer, and chronic prostatitis. He treats enlarged prostate and lower urinary tract symptoms using a range of surgical and minimally invasive techniques, including TURP, GreenLight laser therapy, Rezūm, UroLift and bladder Botox.

In addition, Mr Pang subspecialises in andrology and male infertility. He manages erectile dysfunction, including treatments such as shockwave therapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), as well as Peyronie's disease, hypogonadism (low testosterone), priapism and ejaculatory disorders. He also offers surgical sperm retrieval for IVF.

Mr Pang graduated in Medicine from the University of Glasgow, having previously completed an intercalated BSc in Immunobiology at King's College London. He subsequently obtained an MSc with Distinction in Medical Research and a PhD in Prostate Cancer Epigenetics from the University of Sheffield. His specialist urology training was completed in Yorkshire, followed by a Clinical Andrology Fellowship at the Institute of Andrology at University College London Hospital. In 2023, he was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in Urology at the University of Hong Kong and Queen Mary Hospital before returning to London in 2024. He holds fellowship qualifications from the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Urol) and the European Board of Urology (FEBU).

Mr Pang is Chief Editor of three textbooks—Basic Urological Sciences, Challenging Cases in Urological Surgery and Clinical Andrology—and has authored more than 125 peer-reviewed publications. He has presented extensively at international conferences, received multiple awards from the European Association of Urology (EAU), and secured more than £250,000 in research funding. Actively involved in medical education, he supervises surgical trainees and postgraduate PhD students and holds the positions of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AHEA) and Member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd).

His leadership roles include Senior Associate at the EAU Guidelines Office and former membership of the EAU Young Academic Urologists' Sexual Medicine and Penile/Testis Cancer committees. He currently serves on the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM) Young Researchers Board and the British Fertility Society (BFS) Andrology Specialist Interest Group.

Mr Pang's clinical and research interests centre on men's sexual and reproductive health and genital oncology. Through a combination of specialist clinical care, research and academic leadership, he is committed to advancing knowledge and improving patient outcomes.
