About Mr Grigorios (Greg) Kyriazis

Mr Grigorios Kyriazis is a highly experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon at Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, specialising in robotic kidney surgery for both cancerous and benign conditions.

He has performed over 300 robotic kidney operations, making him one of the highest-volume robotic kidney surgeons in Yorkshire. He pioneered robotic retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy for cancer, established the Trust’s robotic adrenalectomy service, and introduced 3D kidney reconstruction as a standard of care. This expertise allows his patients to benefit from excellent surgical outcomes and high-quality, personalised care.

Mr Kyriazis has extensive experience in managing urinary tract infections (UTIs), benign prostatic enlargement (BPH), and kidney and ureteric stones, as well as providing circumcision surgery. He is also highly skilled in prostate cancer investigations and treating a wide range of bladder conditions.

He currently serves as Cancer Lead for Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospitals and Barnsley NHS Foundation Trust, and as Research Lead for Urology. He is actively involved in clinical research and contributes to several national trials aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Previously, he was an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School, where he helped train and mentor the next generation of doctors and surgeons.

In recognition of his contribution to urology and research, Mr. Kyriazis was shortlisted as one of the Young Investigators of the Year in 2019 by the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS).

I was a little apprehensive and nervous but I had no reason to be. Greg was incredibly friendly and had a calming bedside manner. He did the appropriate examinations in a professional and skilled manner and had a really good discussion with me about my condition, the potential options that could be available and what the diagnosis plan was to get there. He didnt rush the appointment, gave me a lot of quality information and made sure I understood the processes and any potential drawbacks. I am only at the start of my journey, but I feel very reassured I am in the hands of a skilled and compassionate professional. Thank you.

First attended Mt kyriazis in March 2025 following a very elevated PSA result. Appointment arranged with 2 days, full examination, bloods and booked in for an MRI scan with 4 days. Results obtained and biopsies taken and follow up again. All the markets pointed to something nasty but it wasn’t. Treatment arranged, all questions answered and follow up PSA test arranged in 12 months. I can not recommend Mr Kyriazis enough. Pleasant, honest took his tone to explain things and answered an inordinate omoint of questions from myself and my partner Jayne. Thank you also to his secretary and PA who were polite, quick to respond throughout to any questions. Thank you again for such a great service in what was a worrying time.
