About Dr Alexander Oboh
Dr Alexander Oboh is a Consultant Gynaecologist based in Yorkshire. He provides assessment and treatment for a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions, including menstrual disorders, endometriosis, menopause and recurrent miscarriage.
His specialist practice includes robotic-assisted gynaecological surgery, particularly for endometriosis and uterine fibroids, as well as advanced laparoscopic surgery for severe and complex endometriosis. He also performs therapeutic hysteroscopic surgery, endometrial ablation, laparoscopic ovarian cyst surgery, female sterilisation and sterilisation reversal.
After completing his medical degree at the University of Benin Medical School, Dr Oboh undertook postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, including specialist training within the Yorkshire Deanery. He was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Hull Royal Infirmary in 2008 and currently holds an NHS consultant post with Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.
Dr Oboh has a particular interest in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, including advanced laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and robotic-assisted surgery. His clinical practice focuses on providing individualised, evidence-based care, with particular expertise in the management of endometriosis and other complex benign gynaecological conditions.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Oboh is a member of several national and international professional organisations, including the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE), European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE), American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL), British & Irish Association of Robotic Gynaecological Surgeons (BIARGS), British Menopause Society (BMS) and the British Medical Association (BMA).

Dr. Oboh is a fantastic surgeon who has provided a high level of care I would highly recommend him.
Dr Oboh is the only gynaecologist who has listened to me and put a plan in place to our next stages. His bed side manner is 2nd to non and I am very grateful to of been under his care.
Dr Alexander made me feel very at ease and listened to my symptoms and concerns. We have put a plan in place to assist me with moving forward.
I have been under Mr. Oboh’s care since 2023, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He has a fantastic bedside manner, actively listens, and takes the time to explain everything clearly while supporting you in making decisions. My recent visit followed my oophorectomy surgery, during which he also identified some endometriosis. He showed me images of what was discovered and removed, which really eased my concerns. I am hopeful that this surgery marks the end of my treatment, but if further care is needed, I would definitely choose to see Mr. Oboh again. I have complete confidence and trust in him.
I have been a patient of Mr Oboh for a few years now and every visit he is warm&friendly which puts me at ease. He takes time to explain everything during any procedures and is always courteous and professional throughout.
Clinic tends to over run but Mr Oboh, explains things very well and always has a good side manner
I have been seeing Dr Oboh for coming up a year now in regards to my endometriosis. Within two appointments an operation was scheduled and ready to go as soon as the operation was completed he sat with me and my family and explained everything he found and what he had done to try and remove the endometriosis. I am still undergoing treatment with Dr Oboh and he has give me so many options on how to proceed and ways to manage my pains. I would highly recommend seeing Dr Oboh.
