Professor Imran Ahmad

Professor Imran Ahmad is a fellowship-trained Academic Urological Surgeon based in Glasgow, recognised for his expertise in robotic surgery for advanced prostate and bladder cancer. Combining a highly specialised clinical practice with an active academic career, he is committed to delivering innovative, evidence-based care for patients with complex urological conditions.

As one of the UK's most experienced high-volume robotic surgeons, Professor Ahmad offers comprehensive management for prostate and bladder cancer, guiding patients through every stage of their journey, from diagnosis and treatment to long-term follow-up. He also performs robotic surgery for benign prostate enlargement, providing minimally invasive solutions designed to support recovery and optimise outcomes.

Professor Ahmad established the Robotic Pelvic Cancer Service in the West of Scotland and has played a leading role in developing clinical trials that have influenced modern surgical practice and enhanced patient care. His dedication to innovation extends beyond the operating theatre, with a strong focus on advancing treatment options through research and clinical collaboration.

Alongside his clinical work, Professor Ahmad serves as Chair of Urological Oncology at the Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute and the School of Cancer Sciences at the University of Glasgow. He is also passionate about surgical education and has trained numerous robotic surgeons who now lead successful programmes across the UK and internationally.
