Dr Shruthi Konda is a consultant respiratory physician at the Royal Brompton Hospital. She is also an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute.

Dr Konda graduated from Imperial College in 2007. She continued with her postgraduate training in Respiratory and General Medicine within London, working within the Imperial College, St. George's and the Royal Brompton Hospitals.

Dr Konda also has a Bachelors degree with Honours in Management and Medical Sciences from Imperial College Business School, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education under her belt.

Clinical expertise

Dr Shruthi Konda specialises in all adult respiratory medicine and sleep disorders. She is based at the Royal Brompton Hospital, where she has a diverse practice of patients with a variety of respiratory and sleep disorders.

She has particular expertise in:

• Smoking related lung disease: emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
• Sleep disordered breathing: including snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea and obesity hypoventilation syndrome.
• The diagnosis and management of Respiratory Failure
• The use of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Non-invasive Ventilation (NIV)
