I recently underwent J-pouch surgery performed by Mr Oliphant as part of the reversal process following emergency surgery a year ago, which resulted in an ileostomy due to ulcerative colitis. From my initial consultation through to post-operative care, Mr Oliphant was professional, compassionate, and reassuring. He took the time to explain the procedure clearly and thoroughly, ensuring I fully understood each stage of the process. He also checked in with me regularly both before and after surgery, which greatly reassured me and made me feel well supported throughout my care. The surgery itself was extremely successful, and my recovery was smooth with no complications. I was discharged promptly and felt confident managing my recovery due to the excellent care and guidance provided. I have one further procedure remaining to complete the reversal process, and I would be very pleased to return to Mr Oliphant and his team for this final stage. I am extremely grateful for the high standard of care I received.

We gained nothing from the experience. We feel robbed. We have spent £240 and learnt nothing. She told us there was another clinician there who would have been better for us to book with. So how about not charging us and telling us to book with the correct consultant? Why were we not triaged to the correct consultant like what happens in most clinics? I even emailed and phoned before with queries to ensure I was making the right booking. How can this consultant think it is okay to charge £240 for the consultation that they have done? She knows I’m going to have to pay private IVF and all I was literally told from this consultation was that I need to see what they say with NHS recurrent miscarriage. I left the appointment in tears. Because they care more about money than healthcare. I would have been ashamed to charge a grieving couple that much if I couldn’t be of any help.

Needed a routine hernia operation, didn't want to wait 4–6 months, chose Royal Free Private Patients based on surgeon's online profile and because profits go to NHS; also I have been an NHS patient at RF. Was seen quickly for initial consultation and got surgery appointment when I wanted it. Mr Iype did a tidy job of the surgery, I am now recuperating with no complications so far and very little pain. Anaesthetists were friendly and efficient, and Severo my nurse in my ward was helpful, reassuring and friendly. I had a ward room to myself, which my wife could stay in while I had the surgery. It was clean and roomy, though a little cold – take extra blankets. The lunch I was given after surgery was pretty good, and they were able to get a sandwich for my wife too as well as teas and coffees. All in all, went very well.

the appointment for my adhd assessment was online so I can’t comment on the cleaness of the office. The difficult part of this process was trying to keep track of the forms and how many questions you had to answer on a form without being able to save as you go along or being able to print them off and take your time to remember the examples. It would be great to have a checklist on screen that showed which forms you had completed and which ones were still left to do. The assessor put me at ease, she explained everything clearly.

On the of the procedure he came to see me to make sure that I had understood what was involved and any concerns. He also made a video on my phone of an exercise, talking me through it, so I could remember it. Unfortunately I don't live locally so can't access his expertise on a regular basis.
