He made me feel incredibly confident I was in the right hands with him, both from seeing the results of his work and him being clear he’s a real perfectionist but also because he’s very upfront about realistic results, what is possible, recovery time etc. The whole process from start to finish with him has been a great experience. He’s made it clear he’s only a phone call or message away if any problems arise now I’ve been signed off. I saw Mr Wu for my carpal tunnel syndrome which I had had for many years. I was just ignoring it as I didn’t want surgery. When I first saw him he was so professional and reassuring. I had my nerve conduction tests done and it demonstrated moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. I then assumed I could leave well alone and he very kindly and assertively said I should have surgery because if I left it the surgery might not be so successful. I had endoscopic surgery under a local block. The whole surgical experience was amazing. His whole theatre team were kind and efficient. My symptoms were cured immediately and I had my first good nights sleep for years. At 6 weeks the hand has healed so well and I’m even back to playing golf. The initial consultation was an evening appointment and I considered it to be expensive. The consultants fee (Dr Kadhim) was £250 (equating to £1000 per hour) Administration fee £35 (for what) and an e.c.g which took all of 5 minutes was £111. Total £396. I was promised by the consultant that Cardioversion would happen before my holiday in mid December but received excuses from admin staff why this could not happen. I kept pestering and eventually received notice at 3.00pm the day before that Cardioversion would occur at 07.30 the following morning. The actual Cardioversion went without hitch, the consultant Dr Menown and his staff were excellent, facilities were good, food was ample and all went well. So do not take no for an answer.

It's two days since I had major surgery at St Hugh's hospital in Cleethorpes. I still find my eyes tearing up with gratitude at how well they have cared for me. Their consultants are of the highest calibre. And all the staff on the wards, from nurses through to the kitchen, are a joy to witness. Their happiness at work permeates through every nook and cranny. They have looked after not just my body, but my emotions and my dignity. Major surgery is always stressful, but the aftercare I had at St Hugh's has given me a headstart in my recovery. All credit too, to the wise and judicious management in the background. Only good managers could maintain a team who are so united and happy in their jobs. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I reached out to TCM after I was told that I had a very low AMH and AFC and that I would likely go through early menopause. This caused me a lot of stress as I had always had regular periods and had never considered that I may have fertility troubles. Prof Au talked me through my results and educated me on AMH as a poor predictor for menopause. He advised me that I would need further bloods to fully assess my fertility and I was able to request them from my GP. Following this he reviewed my bloods with me again, without charge, and advised me that everything was normal and I did not need to be seen at TCM. I am very grateful for all the help, support and education. Thank you!

To charge the same fee as that charged for a face to face is not defendable or reflective of the standards of integrity I expect from practitioners of this level. The letter that follows simply restates the facts that do not merit a charge of£450 for 27 minutes. The next steps then advocated are those which could be asked for without this money harvesting exercise. I found it insulting.

On the previous visit you are asked certain points the main one was can you lay flat on this type of bed for a period of ten to fifteen minutes keeping your head still I did it but with my back problem it was a worry quite painful. On the day I was pleasantly surprised as the bed had a soft top and in three sections that could be adjusted. No pain experienced.

I need to seek further consultation from a Doctor who does treatments that Mr McKeown does not, and I will be in touch with him again for possible referral, when I have decided how to proceed.
