    About

    Dr Muhsin Almusawy is a consultant haematologist based at the London North West University Hospital NHS Trust. He also sees patients at the following locations:

    Mr Almusawy gained his medical qualification (MBChB) from the College of Medicine Kufa University in 1988 before moving to the UK. He also holds a master's degree in haemoglobinopathy from University College London.

    He has worked and trained in a number of hospitals in the UK and has previously held haematology posts at Manchester Royal Infirmary, University College of London Hospitals, Hammersmith Hospital, and the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.

    He became a consultant in haematology at Bedford Hospital in 2015, and he now leads the haematology services there. Additionally, he is the chair of the haemostasis and thrombosis committee and the lead of the anticoagulation clinic and MDT meetings with Addenbrooke's Hospital. He is involved in research as the principal investigator on a number of projects, and in 2019 he earned the renowned Award for Clinical Excellence. He has also published his work in several peer-reviewed publications.

    Dr Almusawy is a member of the Royal College of Pathologists, the British Society of Haematology, the European Haematology Association, and the Norwegian Medical Association. Additionally, he teaches master's students at University College London and is an educational supervisor for postgraduate haematology training at Imperial College London.

    Outside of work, he has a passion for table tennis and has won a number of championship-level competitions.
