I saw Mr. Beckley ( Consultant Urologist) on 2/10/26. He was exceptional. He listened to me and gave me a full management plan of how l could go forward to recovery. He presented not one but three options. I had no idea about these options as no one had ever mentioned these before. I was so relieved as I thought I was heading for a bladder removal. I felt a weight lifted off of me whilst I was in the consultation. !. I was so pleased I travelled from the coast to see him. I have been a nurse for over 40 years and worked in Urology myself but I was stunned by his knowledge. Thank you so much Mr Beckley. I would recommend any patient with an urology problem to see him. His bedside manner, knowledge , skill and professionalism are second to none. I felt like I had one the Lotto! I feel I can look forward to being well again - which is an enormous relief.

Thank you for making the long trip from the coast to see me—I look forward to working together on an effective solution for your concerns, and wish you all the very best on your way to a full recovery.
Apart from the appointment running 20 minutes late Mr Beckley was clear with his diagnosis and treatment. His bedside manner was also very good. The prescription issued however was made out to a specific make and not a generic one which no pharmacy kept or could order in. This has resulted in a new prescription having to be requested and living 18 miles away still needs to be sorted for reissue with my GP to save making a 36 miles round trip to collect it.
Always friendly and makes me feel at ease. Very reassuring.
Mr Beckley is Always polite and professional, he puts you very much at ease and explains treatments etc brilliantly. Lovely man doing a marvellous job
I recently visited Mr Beckley for further investigation into my recent problems after a water infection, my first appointment was excellent, I got the information I needed with a clear explanation and further treatment plan provided.
The purpose of the visit was a PVR Test. When I arrived the consultant said it wasn’t something he did and would have to refer me. He then said he could do a bladder scan but it was very rushed and not the test my physiotherapist had requested.

I am very sorry that your visit didn’t meet your expectations. I hadn’t received any information from your physiotherapist beforehand; had I known, I would have clarified that my service focuses on specialist treatment consultations rather than isolated diagnostic tests. I’m glad our outpatient team was able to step in and perform a bladder scan for you. This provides exactly the same information as a PVR and the results have been sent your way.
A lovely man, put me at ease and explained everything brilliantly, very pleased
Mr Beckley was very approachable, kind and clear. My only problem was that I had to travel quite a way to see him which makes further meetings and procedures a little difficult, however that is no reflection on Mr Beckley.
Very capable
