About Mr John Jeffery

Mr John Jeffery is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Bristol, specialising in the full spectrum of children’s orthopaedic conditions, with particular expertise in knee problems ranging from straightforward injuries to complex disorders. Could not fault the advice Mr Jeffery gave however he did not know his own diary and over promised massively by saying we could have an appointment as “early as next week”. Unfortunately the reality is very different and we were booked in for a date in 6 weeks. I have just received a call to say this appointment (in 4 days time) is now cancelled with no other dates to offer!! Shocking!!! We have had to go elsewhere for my son to get his surgery and I have now wasted the consultation fee and had to pay again by starting the process all over again! In the meantime my Son is desperate to get back to playing sport at a high level. I feel my consultation fee should be refunded to me as we were very much over promised and under delivered!!

Thank you for your feedback. I’m pleased you found the advice helpful, but I’m very sorry for the frustration caused by the appointment delays and cancellation. This is not the standard I aim to provide, and I regret that we were unable to offer a suitable alternative at short notice.

Mr Jeffery has been exceptional. He’s been fantastic with my 15 year old daughter who was initially very anxious about the operation , all full ACL reconstruction and also meniscus tear. Throughout the process , pre operation, on the day and all post operation meetings he’s been brilliant and encouraging. She’s made notes of all her questions in advance of her appointments as he has encouraged. He has then spent the time responding clearly in a very engaging way suitable for teenagers and is then always available to answer any further questions. Overall it’s been a brilliant experience as a parent and as his patient.

He’s a great Doctor, He has the ability to explain things in simple terms so I as a 14 year old am able to understand. He is a great example of what all Doctors should be. Very glad I was able to have him through my journey of recovery.

We saw Mr John Jeffery for an initial consultation for my daughter’s ACL injury. He was very professional and knowledge. He explained the MRI images and surgery required clearly so we all understood. He is also very patient and kind, taking time to answer all our questions. We were truly grateful that he is going to do the surgery for my daughter.

We had a positive experience with Mr Jeffery. He carefully assessed my daughter’s knee and clearly explained that she has slightly higher kneecaps, which makes her more prone to pain and injury. The diagnosis was explained in a simple and reassuring way, and the recommendation for physiotherapy was practical and helpful. We appreciated the professional and caring approach throughout the visit.
