I actually did not get to use the facilities in the private wing of Charing Cross Hospital, as I was seen in neurophysiology on level three of the NHS departments. The only time I had to go up to the 15th floor was to get two forms, stamped and provide my pre-authorisation number that meant getting in a crowded lift and riding up to the 15th floor, which took a very long time as the lift stopped on nearly every floor. Then I had to go back down to level three for tests. It was actually quite stressful for someone with my health conditions to do this, and to be expected to do this administration as the patient!. The waiting area in the NHS department was not relaxing, it was very hot, no natural light was had limited/poor ventilation and the receptionist was quite rude. The medical staff were more polite. When I pay for private healthcare, I prefer to stay in the private department than in the crowded NHS areas. I gather on this occasion the tests were not available in the private wing, but perhaps another hospital where the consultant worked would’ve been able to accommodate. I was not informed that the tests would be in the NHS department.

My son needed to have two teeth extracted prior to being fitted with braces the following month. The dentist was extremely caring - especially as the procedure proved to be quite difficult due to the large roots of the teeth being pulled. It took an hour for the first tooth to finally come out - and the dentist recommended that a second appointment be made to minimise the amount of trauma caused extracting both teeth in one go. The appointment was made while the procedure was still ongoing - which was very efficient and was a relief for my son.

He has gone our of his way to ensure I have been seen to quickly organising further tests quickly which meant I have not been left worrying about the outcome for longer that necessary. He has guided me clearly through every process at every stage. He has shown empathy and I can't thank him enough for the way he has dealt with me. A true example of the way the health service should be.

Mr Hasan Al Chalabi

I went to Dr Al Chalabi for a fistula which I had been living with for several years and he operated on, performing a lay open procedure. He explained everything incredibly well beforehand and put my mind completely at ease. After surgery I was almost pain free and in way less pain than expected. I cannot recommend Dr Al Chalabi highly enough and the team at London Bridge Hospital was also world class. Thank you Dr Al Chalabi for the superb care.

I found the GP we visited to be welcoming and friendly, he was very informative and honest with things however I found the reception staff to be the opposite they were not very welcoming and I felt that they were closed of from any type of communication or request I did not like that they were so miserable no smiles just blank I didn't like the experience or the feeling I felt when walking into the practise but the doctor was great.

Disappointed I had to wait 20 minutes for an appointment first thing in the morning, however everything else was positive. Waiting area and treatment room were both tidy and clean. Staff were friendly and professional. Some additional work required and dentist took me through options for treatment and resulting cost. Dental work was very good and pain free(!). Payment all completed to my satisfaction. Overall, a positive experience

Everything was very good, except for the fact that I was asked to come in at 10.00 for an operation that started at 13.45. In the first 3 hours I was with you spent 2 hours in your waiting area before being taken downstairs. In the next hour, all that happened was that I had my blood pressure taken and changed into a hospital gown. The operation and post operative care was excellent

He is a very good consultant and did a brilliant job. I had the robotic surgery which went really well. My progress and back to walking was excellent. I didn’t push myself. Just did what I felt I could. At two weeks went to physio and he couldn’t believe how well I could bend my knee. I would definitely recommend Mr Mamood and spire Manchester. Such a great hospital. And consultant.

I wasn’t waiting long before being shown to my room, the staff were all out of this world amazing. So lovely, made you feel at ease and comfortable. Nothing was too much for them. The room was to a very high standard of cleanliness also.
