A bad first impression: I arrived as requested at 7:30 to find no staff in Reception and the whole area in darkness! After about 10 , mins a nurse arrived to take us through to the ward. I had been told by the nurse on the phone doing the pre-op check that I was first on the list. However on the day I was told I was 6th, but suspect there were more than 5 people in front of me, as I was not taken downstairs for the procedure until 1about 11:30.. The problem for me was that I was very nervous and the unexpected delay made me very anxious. During my time in Room 19 the male nurse (?) looking after me did an excellent job, trying to reassure me as well as doing all the necessary preparation. Once I got to the operating theatre everyone was pleasant, efficient and friendly, The sedation was effective and the experience much less unpleasant that the retinal tear repair I had had at Moorfields about 10 years ago. I am now in a much better state to face the procedure on the 2nd eve in a few days time.

I initially booked a half hour consultation having suffered from acute urinary retention and therefore 3 months use of a catheter due to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. I found Mr Su-Min Lee very easy to talk to as he has a great sense of humour which put me at ease. He took time to explain the options available to me and let me decide on the best course of action. He was very informative and I didn't feel rushed at all. A couple of days later I decided to go ahead with a Holep operation. I paid to have this privately in my local NHS hospital, Southmead in Bristol. I was offered a date that was about 3 weeks after my initial consultation. He met me again on the morning the surgery to put me at ease and the treatment that I received from the medical team at the hospital was very good. It is now 6 weeks post operation and as far as I am concerned it was a success. My urinary issues are resolved with the exception of the expected slight bit of stress incontinence which is improving daily.

I have been under Dr Raza's care for almost 3 years. I first saw him when a spinal MRI showed large fibroid. A few months ago, I had been in more discomfort than before so I decided to see Dr Raza in September. It turned out then after USG that the fibroid grew almost 60% and the additional MRI showed abnormal tissue. Dr Raza decided to perform emergency single-port robotic hysterectomy, an advanced and innovative method in the gynecology field. Although he was fully booked, he prioritised my case. Everything went well, and I recovered within a few weeks. I am so happy and so lucky that I have been under Dr Raza's care. He is an expert in his field, and always devotes more time during consultations to explain everything so that you can make informed decisions about your health. Going forward I will be seeing Dr Raza to monitor my female health.

I am so lucky to have been helped by Dr Sanda. From the very first appointment with her, I felt better about my condition. Dr Sanda has helped me to live with tinnitus and not let it ruin my life. Through CBT she has given me the tools to not fear tinnitus. I cannot believe how much better I feel. Of course the tinnitus is there, but by accepting and not fearing it, the brain adapts and I can have long periods of not noticing it. I can sleep with no props. Dr Sanda is also a very kind and approachable doctor. Her advice and explanations make sense. I was so fortunate to have found her at a time when my anxiety was rising. She has taught me that you can feel better with the right help.

Consultant Review – Mr Chris O’Neill I attended a follow-up appointment with Mr Chris O’Neill at the Belfast Private Hospital following my recent hip surgery and was extremely pleased with the care I received. The consultation was thorough and reassuring. Mr O’Neill carefully examined my wound, assessed my leg movement, listened to my concerns, and clearly explained my progress and expected recovery timeline. I felt well informed and reassured that my recovery is progressing as it should. Mr O’Neill’s professionalism, kindness and calm manner were outstanding. I left the appointment feeling confident, supported and very grateful for the excellent care provided.

I had an acute pain in my right leg and had difficulty walking. Having had IDD treatment at Osteopath West before for sciatica I called and was given an appointment later that day. On arrival i was given a thorough examination and it was decided that I most likely had a pulled muscle as well as a nerve issue. I had some deep massage on my back and leg followed by an IDD session. The result today is that the pain is considerably better and i can now walk mush better than before. I am grateful for the prompt appointment and the service I received and would recommend Osteopath West to people in a similar position.

I was seeking a progress review as I was 6 weeks into a 12 week treatment plan and wanted to know that things were on track. I was offered a catch up appointment or a tel con review, either to occur within the hour but I agreed to send in some photo's via email. I received a call back from Mr Sidloff within 10 minutes of emailing him in which he was able to reassure me that all looked fine and there was no need for me to see him before the end of Jan 2026, unless I had a concern. So, 10 out of 10 for the speed and helpfulness of his response.

Spoke with Dr. Cowie about starting HRT treatment. She explained why she thinks I should start (low energy, sleeping problems, foggy brain, sinusitis and dry eyelid oil glands). Also how to use the treatment, and what side effects I may have. We talked about the fact that I can call or email her anytime if I have questions or concerns while on the treatment. She is friendly, professional, efficient, and caring. I feel like I had ample time to talk about my concerns and left not feeling worried about my health and my future well being.

Mr Selvasekar looked after my entire journey with my cancer diagnosis, staging surgery and aftercare over several years in a thorough, knowledgeable and professional way. His care was exemplary and he was happy to answer any questions and helped sort out any eventualities which occurred during the consequent investigations, etc The surgery outcome which could have resulted in high possibility of complications was excellent and I am very grateful to Mr Selvasekar for that as it could have been very different with another surgeon.

My overall experience was excellent, from the reception staff, being taken to the room, the 1:1 pre-operative discussions with Dr Lowe and Dr Barnard, to the nursing staff (continuity of the nursing staff and Daisy's approach and empathy), the theatre team and the post procedure care. I mentioned to Dr Lowe how impressed I was with the communication between the theatre team, which provided a great deal of confidence. I should also mention how well they communicated with me on a 1:1 basis explaining what they were doing.

The recent visit was as a follow up on a glaucoma condition and after cataract had been remobed. Despite being very early for my appointment I was seen almost staight away. After further analysis of my eye functionx it was suggested that I might benefit from laser work to allow additional light through to the inside of the eyes and to open further the drainage channel in the left eye.
