Her experience has earned her an excellent reputation and allowed her to work alongside Paralympians and Olympians, as well as the ordinary sportsperson. She was appointed a ports Physician at the 2012 Olympic Games and the 2002 Commonwealth Games. She has worked with the athletes for the GB rowing, track and field sports, marathon, endurance, and outdoor adventure.
Dr Spencer-Smith is an active teacher, having developed an MSc at Bangor University. She often lectures and presents at conferences and on the TV. She is also a marathon runner and triathlete and uses her own experience to empathise with the frustrations of injury in sport.

Dr Cath is the most wonderful consultant. Incredibly calm and professional in her manner, she is attentive, supportive and extremely knowledgeable. I felt in very safe hands working with her and she was able to identify a sacral fracture that had gone undiagnosed by 2-3 other specialists. I'm. incredibly grateful to her and her team who were able to get me an appointment and MRI scan at very short notice and all in the same day.

Catherine is an outstanding professional! Without creating expectation for others, she was so accessible at short notice to me. I rang her on Monday, saw her on Tuesday, had an MRI on Wednesday and a diagnosis on the same day. She also has a wide network of specialist practitioners she has referred me to for pain management and remediation. On top of that her support team, communication and responsiveness is outstanding! And Catherine is LOVELY! I've not seen a more professional medical practitioner in the UK!
