Mr Kiran Varad

Mr Kiran Varad is a Consultant General and Children’s ENT Surgeon based in London and Surrey. He is a specialist in children's ear, nose and throat problems. He is also highly skilled in all areas of Adult ENT with interests in nose and sinus problems and skin cancer of the head and neck.

Mr Varad is the clinical lead for Children’s ENT services across South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex (South Thames Paediatric Network). In this role he hopes to improve quality and accessibility of children’s ENT care in the South East of England.

Mr Varad graduated from King's College London in 2010 and undertook his ENT surgical training in London and the South East of England. His training culminated in completion of the prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital Paediatric ENT fellowship where he developed expertise in the full range of children's ENT conditions.

He is an expert in children's tonsil and adenoid surgery (sleep apnoea and tonsillitis), children's ear problems (grommet insertion) and children's nose problems (including hay fever). He is accomplished at Coblation intracapsular tonsillectomy, a newer gentler technique that minimises discomfort in children. He has sub-specialist interests in children's airway problems, voice issues and lumps and bumps of the head and neck.

Mr Varad was appointed as a Consultant ENT surgeon at Ashford and St. Peter's and Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trusts in 2021. He provides regional support for complex neonatal and paediatric ENT problems.  He is a core member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team in the area.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr Varad has numerous academic publications and has presented his research at conferences worldwide.  He authored the Paediatrics Chapter chapter in Essentials of ENT Surgical Procedures.

He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and is a member of the British Association of Paediatric Otolaryngologists.
