My first appointment was arranged within a week. After my appointment I was offered surgery in exactly one more week. Everything was great, lovely facilities, lovely staff. Everyone was very friendly and constantly being offered coffee etc. On every occasion I was taken either on time or early. I was put at ease and everything was fully explained and what the best lenses for me would be, based on my history and interests. On the day of surgery, everything went fine and there was no pain whatsoever, merely a strange feeling as the surgeon did his stuff. Afterwards I was given advice re eye drops and aftercare and again all great. Everything was fine when I got home, merely discomfort and that soon passed. I had plenty of people checking and following up that all was well. Finally, I had a follow up visit after a few weeks and again everything was great and very professional and I was advised to see my optician and GP. Throughout my time, the service I received was first class.

I am sure it is only natural to be very protective towards one's eyes and, from the moment of the first 'drops' being inserted in my right eye, I was extremely nervous and was dreading every moment. I was conscious throughout the whole operation on my right eye and it was not until it was all over that I realised I had not experienced any discomfort (let alone pain) from the moment the eye drops were first administered, to when the operation was all over. I am so grateful for the exceptional care and attention I received and, when it is time to operate on my left eye, I will enter the anesthetic room with the tried & tested knowledge that there is nothing for me to fear as I will not experience any discomfort whatsoever. I am extremely fortunate to have undergone an eye operation, performed by a team of such capable, dedicated and knowledgeable experts who safeguarded me from any discomfort.

I have recently had cosmetic surgery at Sancta Maria and i genuinely would not want to go anywhere else…. I may be biased as I work at the hospital but for me regardless of who I was the staff were very professional and gave outstanding care. I always watch how every staff members provide this incredible service to other members of the public but honestly they showed me so much care and compassion throughout my surgery. The staff in all departments - especially recovery and ward as that’s where I spent my time mostly. Also Ashley in outpatients for providing me with an appointment for dressing clinic to put my mind at ease when I accidentally got my dressings wet. Honestly I would not want to have had my surgery anywhere else. Thank you all so much. I am very proud to work within such an incredible team.

This was a follow-up appointment with David Cumming for MRI results regarding my back pain. As with with my first appointment, he provided excellent assistance and advice. His feedback was detailed and clear and he answered any questions I and my son raised. He ran through treatment options, but without putting any pressure on me to make decisions there and then. Indeed, throughout my consultations, I always felt listened to, and never felt that we were being rushed through. Throughout, Mr Cumming was friendly and clear, patiently listening to my concerns and answering my questions; he was warm and welcoming - when my son dropped my crutch on the floor, this consultant surgeon did not hesitate to pick it up! I also want to praise his secretary, Emma, who has been most helpful.

I was a bit nervous on this surgery because of other people’s stories but my experience was so smooth! Everyone was lovely and explained it so clearly to me, the surgery was so quick and I’m barely in any discomfort, and more importantly during the surgery Mr Adeel made sure to watch my teeth (veneers) which was a lovely touch as working in that area both the surgeon and anaesthesiologist it’s very difficult I can imagine! But to still take the time to be careful around them which was another worry of mine so all round cannot fault the surgery or the entire experience. Thank you Mr Adeel and the team for looking after me so well!!

I recently had a HoLEP procedure under the care of Mr Tev Aho. He is an excellent clinician - and I highly recommend him to anyone experiencing symptoms from prostatic hypertrophy. I found his assessment of my problem to be very thorough and thoughtful. I had great confidence in his skill to address my problem. I have had a very positive outcome. The operation has resolved all my urological symptoms. The recovery took a couple of weeks and was entirely in line with the detailed/helpful information I recieved before hand. Thank you.

I felt very cared for by everyone who was part of my admission, which made a stressful experience so much easier. The Doctor spent time listening and acknowledged the struggles my son is experiencing! He was sympathetic and helped him enormously. Medication was discussed and explained fully. We left with a feeling of relief that we now had a plan moving forward. He will review my son in a few weeks and adjust medication as required. From general enquiry to consultation, procedures and aftercare my experience has been absolutely superb. My procedure was a big step for me and I was supported all the way. My friends are very impressed with the results even after one week. This is honestly the first time I have put myself and I am delighted I did. This was not vanity but a step to look the age I feel.

. It’s not clear where the private department is (or any other) as no reception desk at hospital entrance (only a security man on other duties). When in 2nd floor private area do not expect trappings of luxury or flashy equipment. You do get kindness, attentiveness and skill and efficiency. Came out with problem fixed. No cafe.

The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. I must admit I’m 60 years old too much weight so the thought of an operation was worrying to say the least. But from Mr Parker, nursing staff, theatre staff and everybody else involved really do put your mind at ease. They all make a bad 6 months seem somewhat enjoyable.
