My GP referred me to an Endocrinologist for an opinion of my symptoms. We chose the Consultant doctor who had the soonest appointment available in our area. Dr Horne is a young Endocrinologist who was personable on meeting and communicated clearly the tests that I should undergo to determine a diagnosis. Most important, he picked up on a comment about my feeling breathless by recommending a test for cardiovascular disease, although this was not his specialty. The result of this test revealed that I needed an emergency heart operation to install a pacemaker. I was kept overnight and received the pacemaker surgery the next day. It was amazing that this was discovered just before it became a crisis. I am so grateful to Dr Horne and the Cardiac team at Salisbury District Hospital. When he had the test results for the original symptoms, Dr Horne also confirmed the endocrinology diagnosis. I recommend Dr Horne without reservation, as a thoroughly Professional and Caring Consultant, who through active listening heard and clear communication explained a path for my medical investigation. His thoroughness picked up on a symptom (breathlessness) that I had explained away as unfitness, or other things. Ready to credit the Cardiac Team for their not insignificant part in my emergency treatment, I would add collaboration with a good dollop of humility to Dr Horne’s attributes. Professional at all times, I felt that he was on my side all the way.

He made me feel comfortable, confident, and truly cared for throughout what has been a challenging recovery journey. Dr. Mackay is one of those rare doctors who with knowledge, experience, interst and genuine warmth. It is always lovely to meet with her, She takes care of her patients very well and peronally. Every consultation feels warm and personal. I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis at the age of 26. She cautght it very very early and picking it up so early on, I must say - she is exceptionally talented. I am 30 now, and this disease is out of my life forever (Fingers crossed ). Had she not been there to help me diagnose it at an early stage, I dont know what wouldve happened. I am glad I got the opprtunity to connect with her. So humble and so patient. She takes her time, never rushes, and genuinely makes you feel cared for and understood. She truly takes the time to listen and explain everything clearly. Her medical knowledge is phenomenal, a perfect blend of heart and expertise. Honestly, if there were 7 stars to give, she deserves every single one!

I’ve had the privilege of trusting Mr Ghali with several cosmetic procedures, and I genuinely wouldn’t go to anyone else. From the very first consultation, he takes the time to listen, answer every question (none are too small), and make you feel completely at ease. If he feels a procedure isn’t necessary, he’ll say so, always with respect for your choice. On the day of surgery, everything is explained again clearly, ensuring you feel confident and informed. The aftercare is outstanding. Support doesn’t end once you leave the clinic, any questions or concerns are promptly addressed, with Emma, his wonderful secretary, always on hand to help. The level of care is truly first class, and I couldn’t imagine trusting anyone else.

I cannot rate my experience highly enough. Mr. Thakur and Dr. Richard the anesthetist were extremely professional and supportive and took time to clearly explain the procedure and process and answer all of my questions. The nursing staff, Steph, Brian, Natalie and Til were fantastic looking after me post op and were very friendly and supportive. The pharmacy team took great care in explaining my medication and advising on the pain relief regime to follow. Gary from the Physio team was great at explaining the rehab exercises and putting me through my paces to make sure I started my recovery in the best way. A great team, please pass on my thanks.

I would not choose Spire as a private patient. The nursing staff were fabulous but the overall experience was poor. I feel that since they now take 80% nhs patients then the overall standards have dropped. After my operation I ordered an evening meal that didn’t materialise and after starving for over 24 hours was able to get a chicken sandwich eventually. The breakfast was quite simply atrocious. Cold scrambled egg, awful tea, toast inedible due to being soggy. I recently had emergency surgery at Taunton NHS hospital and they were far superior to this hospital.

My 7 year old daughter had her one hour, online assessment with Gemma and it went beautifully. After lots of build up and anxiety, Gemma put her at ease immediately and was really engaging. From what I heard, it just felt like a nice chat with some interesting questions that kept her engaged. My daughter was worried it would feel like a test but that wasn't how it felt at all. Gemma seemed to get a good understanding from the call and seems confident about next steps so i was relieved too. Thanks Gemma!

The Spire has excellent facilities (car parking, waiting area, consulting rooms etc) and the reception staff are very attentive and helpful. The “formal check in” using an iPad is an unnecessary hurdle for patients to negotiate. The earlier system of just checking in with the receptionist was much better. My appointment with Dr. Balerdi was on time and a very useful session. Re. Dr. Balerdi himself, my very postive comments are in an earlier section.

Nr Casula met me on a Tuesday. He was very clear how serious my condition had become and that prompt action was necessary. The following Monday I was admitted for the minimally invasive procedure to replace my aortic valve. I had so few complications. Everything seemed to progress as a textbook case. I cannot thank him more highly for an amazing recovery. I came home on day four after the operation and have felt better and better ever since.

I had the most fruitful medical experience with Dr Ong and cannot recommend and thank him highly enough. I have been dealing with new incredibly itchy skin and had seen multiple doctors who were unable to diagnose the condition. Within a few minutes Dr Ong had given me a diagnosis and treatment plan my scabies, identified the mites which he showed me, and now finally my ordeal is over and the itching is finally clearing!

Excellent Mr Shergill greeted me early. Ask how i was doing, showed the scar s d he explained i have a scar that most Indian or black persons have. Just means my body over heals. A few exercises and was very pleased. I asked a question or two as he said do I have any. Left very happy. The overall experience has been excellent the whole team, has settled me for my first surgery after 56 years.

Parking was good on the site, although signage from the roadside wasn't very obvious and I initially drove passed. The nurse was very punctual, knowledgeable and friendly. She kept me fully informed as to everything she was doing and what she was checking for.
