About Mr Peter Dacombe
Mr Peter Dacombe is a highly trained Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder, elbow and upper limb conditions. He is based at The Ridgeway Hospital, alongside his NHS practice at Great Western Hospital, and manages a wide range of problems including shoulder dislocation, rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, arthritis, upper limb fractures, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome.
Mr Dacombe graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2007 and completed his foundation training in London. During this time, he achieved an MSc in Sport and Exercise Medicine with Distinction. He then returned to the South West of England to undertake his core and higher surgical training in the Severn region, gaining extensive experience across Bristol and surrounding hospitals.
Following completion of UK orthopaedic training, Mr Dacombe travelled to Perth, Western Australia, where he undertook a Fellowship in Upper Limb and Trauma Surgery. This advanced his expertise in arthroscopic (keyhole) shoulder and elbow surgery, shoulder replacement, soft tissue reconstruction and complex upper limb trauma.
Mr Dacombe prioritises accurate diagnosis, minimally invasive treatment and a collaborative approach to help patients achieve their individual goals.

First time meeting Mr Dacombe, I found him to be pleasant, knowledgeable and very approachable. He answered the questions I posed with clarity, and was able to quieten some of the worries I had about my injury going forward. It is also reassuring, that should I have concerns in the future, he will be there to help me out
Mr Dacombe was amazing. Very knowledgeable, personable and immediately made me feel confident in his abilities. He diagnosed my issue immediately and offered to do the steroid injection there and then. I have been suffering for a few months and this was such a relief for me rather than having to wait for another appointment. I am very grateful for the service that I received today from Mr Dacombe.
