I cannot recommend Dr Karoshi highly enough. From my very first consultation through to my now 2nd hysteroscopic fibroid resection with him, he has been exceptional. What stood out most was how informative, compassionate, and supportive he was at every stage. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions with patience, and made sure I felt reassured and involved in decisions especially around preserving my fertility, which was incredibly important to me. His calm manner, genuine care, and expertise made a potentially overwhelming experience feel manageable and safe. I felt truly listened to and cared for not just as a patient but as a person, after so many visits to other gynae’s who either misdiagnosed or didn’t take further action based on my concerns Dr Karoshi was my light at the end of the tunnel and has given me hope after so many years of heartache and difficulty. I am deeply grateful for his skill and kindness and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone needing gynaecological care.

Before I met Glenda I was at a very low point in my life. I was experiencing an incredible amount of stress and anxiety following a breakdown in my relationship. I found it very hard to function at a level to which I was used to. I have always been high energy and needed to be for my work. Glenda instantly put me at ease, she was always very patient and explained in great detail why I was feeling why I was. Glenda is highly professional and never once did I feel patronised or judged. She spoke to me with respect and encouraged me to learn more about my situation through reading, podcasts, audiobooks etc which really helped me along the way. Some days I would arrive at our therapy session without knowing what I was going to discuss but Glenda creates a safe environment which allows you to open up and share your thoughts and feelings. Glenda is an incredible psychodynamic therapist and has been highly influential in my life and I will be forever grateful for her knowledge, her patience and her kindness. Thank you for everything.

I had a very positive experience at Spire Shawfair Park Hospital. From the moment I arrived, the reception staff were welcoming, efficient, and extremely helpful, making the check‑in process smooth and stress‑free. The layout of the building is thoughtful and spacious, with plenty of room in both the reception and waiting areas, ensuring a calm environment while waiting for my consultation. I never felt crowded or rushed. My consultation took place in a well‑equipped room with high‑quality medical facilities, which further added to my confidence in the care I was receiving. Overall, the combination of cleanliness, efficiency, professional staff, and excellent facilities made my visit exceptionally positive. The person I saw was very polite and friendly, however I wanted to provide some feedback on sensitivity around discussing ADHD symptoms. My “symptoms” were described as “very worrying”, which I felt a little offended by on reflection. Especially saying “gosh”or “wow”. Though they are significant symptoms (a term she also used which was fine) these are behaviours which a big part of who I am and something I would not describe as worrying myself. Difficult, challenging, a nuisance sometimes yes, but describing them as worrying suggests they are something inherently wrong. Any way, food for thought. Another suggestion is making an allowance for longer sessions. For some it may not be too emotional, but for those with adverse experiences, it’s quite a lot to reel through a whole life’s history of behaviours, relationships, and experiences so quickly. Dr Sotiris Nicholas provided my anaesthesia for a C-section at the Portland Hospital and his care was exceptional. He was incredibly warm and reassuring, explaining everything clearly so I knew exactly what to expect. The entire process was painless, calm, and far more relaxing than I could have imagined. He stayed with us throughout the C-section, and despite working closely with the obstetrician, he chatted to us the whole time, keeping us both calm and helping us truly enjoy the birth of our baby. He even went above and beyond by taking beautiful photographs of this incredibly special moment. We will always remember the role he played in our baby’s birth and could not recommend him more highly to anyone looking for the right anaesthetist to support them during a C-section.

From my initial enquiry about Refractive Lens Replacement surgery, through my surgery and aftercare I have had excellent care from Vision Scotland. Everything was clearly explained and the surgery has left me with the desired result, 20/20 vision with no glasses needed. The only (slight) negative difference here is a greater need for good light when reading at night or close work. The procedure was pain free and I have had no complications. I am looking forward to enjoying the results for (I hope) many years to come. Thank you to all staff involved with my care.

Having been for a much longer and more complicated surgery, a year ago, I already knew that I would be in good hands for this, more minor procedure. The staff as so attentive and friendly, it was lovely to see most of the same familiar faces and to be remembered by them. Everything is exceptionally clean and I felt very well looked after, my consultant saw me before and after the procedure and kept me well informed. The anaesthetist also explained everything that would happen, answering any questions.

The staff at the hospital were all very friendly, helpful and efficient. They understood the importance of admission for surgery to the patient and were very supportive. All of the clinical and medical staff were first class, but the support staff were also excellent. The room was clean and comfortable and I was well looked after. The menu options were very good and the food was delicious. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending this excellent hospital.
