About Prof. Joe Philip

Professor Philip is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Bristol Urological Institute, Southmead Hospital since 2011. I had an excellent experience with Mr Philip who treated me for Kidney stones (2 separate operations). The advice and care he gave was second to none and he was extremely helpful when I developed an unexpected minor complication post the 1st op. I would not hesitate to recommend him for his clear expertise and friendly manner, he really made me feel at ease and explained everything in detail that was easy to understand.

Professor Joe Philip was the second Urologist I consulted regarding a large Kidney Stone which needed to be removed surgically. Having endured a failed surgery and a painful stent carried out by the first Urologist I consulted, I was anxious to find the right specialist for my situation. I was reassured when I met Professor Philip. He is approachable, caring, knowledgeable and a highly skilled surgeon. This valuable combination instilled complete confidence in me. He successfully removed the whole Kidney Stone and the elation of this outcome made me feel I had my life back. Undergoing surgery and the preparation surrounding it, is a daunting prospect, so it is of paramount importance to have the very best person for the job. In view of Professor Philip’s comprehensive skill set, I can highly recommend him without reservation.
