Dr. Justino Monteiro

Dr. Justino Monteiro, an experienced General Physician, brings over three decades of diverse medical experience to the Oval Medical team. Originally from Guinea-Bissau, West Africa, Dr. Monteiro is proficient in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and French, facilitating effective communication with a range of patients. He obtained his medical qualifications from the Classic University of Lisbon, followed by a Certificate in Internal Medicine at Egas Moniz Hospital, Lisbon.

Dr. Monteiro's professional journey includes roles in general practice and hospital attachments in Lisbon before joining an international medical assistance agency affiliated with the World Health Organization (WHO) as a General Practitioner in Mozambique in 1994.

Upon relocating to London, Dr. Monteiro diversified his experience, working in an intensive care department and as a Locum at an inner-city medical practice. He collaborated closely with the Stockwell Project to provide substance misuse support.

Dr. Monteiro's contributions extend beyond clinical practice; he has authored and presented papers internationally on HIV2.

In 2004, Dr. Monteiro founded The Monteiro Clinic, a specialised private medical facility in London, laying the foundation for his collaboration with the Oval Medical Centre. Passionate about preventive healthcare, mental health improvement, and weight management, Dr. Monteiro specialises in cardiovascular diseases and tropical/travel medicine, emphasising holistic patient care and well-being.
