Mr Vakharia is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with specialist training in advanced laparoscopic surgery. He works at Barnet hospital which is part of the Royal Free NHS Trust where he was the clinical director for women's services for five years.
Mr Vakharia qualified from the Royal Free & University College Medical school and trained in the North Central & East Thames rotation. During his training he also completed additional training at Birmingham Women's Hospital where he completed his advanced training in minimal access surgery.
Through his additional training he became proficient in the minimal access management of many gynaecological conditions which includes endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, adenomyosis, heavy menstrual bleeding, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which he manages on a regular basis in his NHS practice.
In addition to the above, he regularly manages patients who present with pelvic pain, period pain, couples who are have difficulty conceiving and any general gynaecological issue.
Mr Vakharia (along with his colleague Mr Yousri Afifi) is also very please to be able to offer laparoscopic insertion of cervical cerclage (stitch in the cervix place by key-hole surgery in the abdomen) for management of late miscarriage.
In addition to his clinical work Mr Vakharia is passionate about service delivery improvements, training and medical innovation.

Qualifications
Mr Vakharia qualfied from the Royal Free and University College Medical School in 2005 obtaining his primary medical qualification (MBBS) and a first class intercalated degree with honours in molecular medicine.
After completing his foundation training he commenced his specialist training in the North East & North Central London Deanery and he completed advanced training in laparoscopic surgery for the excision of benign disease and advanced labour ward practice.
Mr Vakharia is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy.

After a lifetime of difficulties with my periods I saw Mr Vakharia on a recommendation from another lady who has the same condition as me. It was great decision- he is kind, knowledgeable and generally brilliant. He listened carefully to everything I said, took my concerns seriously, explained all the options and proposed a treatment plan. When it came to having surgery he made sure I was comfortable with what to expect and reassured me that there would be somebody on hand at London Gynaecology at all times for any issues I may have afterwards - which there was. When I had unexpected problems during the Christmas holidays he got back to me within the hour and saw me as quickly as possible. I am very happy indeed to have found him and grateful for the excellent care.

The experience having my maternity care and delivery of my son with Mr Vakharia was truly amazing. On the day itself we felt truly cared for and supported. The c section was calm and everything went exactly to plan. I recovered really quickly - it was truly a fantastic experience. We couldn’t be happier. I felt supported, informed at all times and Mr Vakharia went above and beyond to clarify all our questions and guide us in our decision making. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

I went to see Mr Vakharia for suspected endometriosis and I am truly thankful I did. From diagnosis to surgery to recovery and final consultation he put me at ease, explained everything in simple terms and was very thorough in making sure that I was happy and reassured at every step.
