Ms Julie Bowring

Ms Julie Bowring is a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health who sees private patients at London Gynaecology's clinics at The Portland Hospital and in the City of London. She also holds an NHS consultant post at Homerton Hospital, where she provides specialist sexual and reproductive healthcare and gynaecology services.

Ms Bowring graduated in medicine from the University of Manchester in 2002. She subsequently undertook general gynaecological training in North West London before completing advanced training in sexual and reproductive health at The Royal Free Hospital, London. She is a BSCCP-accredited colposcopist and serves as the Cervical Screening Provider Lead at Homerton Hospital. She is also the Gynaecology Lead for the Homerton Anogenital Neoplasia Service (HANS), a national referral centre for the management of HPV-related conditions affecting the cervix, vagina, vulva and anal canal.

Her specialist interests include human papillomavirus (HPV) infection of the lower genital tract, cervical screening and colposcopy. She provides assessment and treatment for abnormal cervical screening results and benign cervical and vulval conditions, as well as sexual health screening and testing for sexually transmitted infections. Her practice also includes contraception services, including intrauterine device (IUD) and intrauterine system (IUS) insertion and removal, subdermal contraceptive implants, smear tests, cervical biopsies, LLETZ, cryotherapy and the management of menstrual disorders, menopause, perimenopause, vaginal atrophy, dyspareunia, cystitis, vaginal infections and genital warts.
