I attended the Cleveland Clinic yesterday for an orthopaedic consultation with Mr Kash Akhtar, along with X-rays and an MRI scan, and overall my experience was very positive. From the moment I arrived, the staff were professional, welcoming, and efficient. The check-in process was smooth and well organised, which helped make the visit stress-free. Mr Kash Akhtar was excellent, very knowledgeable, professional and reassuring. He took the time to explain my condition clearly, answered my questions and made sure I understood the next steps in my treatment. It was clear that he genuinely cares about his patients. The radiology team who carried out the X-rays and MRI scan were also fantastic, very professional and attentive, and they made the whole process comfortable. The facilities were modern, clean and very well maintained. I felt well looked after throughout the entire visit and would highly recommend the Cleveland Clinic and Mr Kash Akhtar to anyone needing orthopaedic care.

I couldn't fault my visit from the reception to the nurses, consultant and theatre staff. The only issue I was very disappointed in was the lack of communication regarding my day procedure appointment. I rang the hospital to get my appointment letter emailed to me because my last letter arrived the day after my initial consultation was over. The letter with the appointment date for my day procedure arrived the day after I got it emailed but no time was on the letter. All I was told on the phone was to fast from 6am for my 12 noon appt. The appt was changed to 5pm which was fine. When I arrived to the room for my obs etc to be taken I was asked did I have a bag with me. I said to the lovely nurse I was told absolutely nothing about the appt except just to be there for 5pm. She told me I should have been told to bring a bag just in case. Communication for a procedure (may it be for a day or overnight) is very important and this part of the process was very disappointing

I had removal of both ovaries and tubes, performed by Miss Reid, at The Lister Hospital in Chelsea at the end of February this year. The laparoscopic procedure was performed with robot assistance. I was very nervous leading up to the surgery, but Miss Reid, her PA Vanessa, and all of the lovely nursing and theatre staff at The Lister were very kind and reassuring. I was able to leave hospital on the same day, which was my choice, but could have stayed overnight. Despite feeling a little uncomfortable for a few days, I can honestly say that there was no pain from the 5 incisions at any point, which was completely unexpected. Miss Reid, from the first time I met her, from the various consultations, procedures and tests, to her popping in to see me after surgery, was kind and thoughtful. She is keen to make sure that her patients are happy and kept informed. This has been a very positive experience and one for which I am very grateful.

There are no words to express my gratitude towards Dr Simone Rofena. He is exceptional! My case turned out to be really difficult because my uterus was damaged with a procedure carried out for the removal of a large fibroid. Although Dr Rofena had nothing to do with all this, he was there, he helped us, not only physically with regards to the IVF procedure, but also emotionally. We found his help and it was thanks to him that we met another exceptional Professor Dr Saridogan who helped with the reconstruction of the uterus and thus was also a key player in having a successful IVF procedure. I strongly recommend Dr Simone not only for his professionalism, but also for his approach with patients. He goes beyond and does his best to have a successful IVF procedure!

The surgery went really well and my surgeon, Mr Daniel Gore was exceptional in how attentive he was in explaining the procedure, reassuring me and also conducting the laser eye surgery. The rest of the team were also very attentive and kind. Mr Gore's aftercare following the procedure was also very thorough and compassionate. The post-operative follow-up appointment the next day was also a seamless experience. He was thorough in his approach and also open to answering any questions I may have. Mr Gore, private practice manager, Shaima Patel has been excellent throughout the process of setting up and managing appointments. She is kind, prompt in her replies and also very reassuring. I would highly recommend Mr Gore and his team.

Spire Harpenden runs efficiently, and the process is straightforward once you know the drill — you’ll pop your details in electronically on an iPad at each visit, including your car registration. Parking is good, and the hospital itself is well looked‑after inside and out, with clear signage that makes it easy to find where you’re going. The waiting rooms run a bit warm for me (I run hot), and the chairs aren’t the comfiest, but things generally move along at a decent pace. Appointments sometimes run to time and sometimes don’t, but the staff are pleasant, helpful, and do try to accommodate you and get as much done as possible on the day. Overall, a positive and well‑organised experience.

The staff that attended me went beyond my expectations. I was somewhat concerned of my release time. I was admitted at 1630hrs on the 12th March and discharged approximately 1530hrs on 13th March. I had a bad night after the "major surgery", with seriously low blood pressure problems, caused apparently by adverse reaction to some painkillers. Unfortunately I am not medically experienced, but I was concerned at my discharge.

I don’t know the name of the nurse who was with me in that day and when my previous appointment was but she was amaizing. She had the patience to answear for all my question and to explain everything. She took care of me and offered me support during the procedure.
