I booked a. consultation with Mr Basu for Breast Implant Removal only. After researching him I felt assured he was extremely highly qualified and vastly knowledgeable in his profession.
Upon meeting him I knew I had made the correct decision.
During my consultation, Mr Basu listened intensively to my concerns with having my implants removed as they had been in situ for almost 21 years. I must stipulate, there was no underlying reason for removal of my implants other than I simply wanted them removed with no further augmentation required.
Mr Basu discussed this with me in great detail advising me that I could change my mind if I was unsure at any time and also discussed the option to have a breast uplift in future, if I was not satisfied with the outcome. Mr Basu offered me time to go away and think about my final decision, arranged a mammogram and upon my next meeting,
I confidently planned my procedure.
My Medical History was complex, given I experienced Anaphylactic shock in theatre previously, have intolerance to general anaesthetic and required major blood transfusions in all of my previous spinal operations. I have a history of many drugs allergies which is seriously problematic for me with pain relief. I also have a Lung Condition and Spinal Fusion in situ with rods, pins, plates and a cage in my spine. I suffer with anorexia.
Before, my surgery, I had a further consultation with Mr Basu, who arranged for me to see the Anaesthetist in order to obtain a detailed medical history should any complications arise in theatre.
We discussed the need for my operation to take place The Priory Hospital, Birmingham, as they have ICU beds available, as this was a possibility, given my complex M/H.
My operation was 7 November 2026. I saw Mr Basu and The Anaesthetist again before I went to theatre and we discussed any concerns and fully explained the procedure once again.
Mr Basu and his team were fabulous. My stay at The Priory Hospital in Edgbaston, Birmingham was faultless. The superb care I received was second to none. I received incredible care during my stay.
I ran into some complications a few hours later, with blood pressure and sickness issues, so it was decided best for me to stay overnight and I felt reassured I had professional care.
I confidently returned home the following day, after discharge from
Mr Basu.
I unfortunately had a problem with my left breast wound, a week later, which required aspiration. I returned to Clinic for Consultation with Mr Basu and was seen a further twice before final discharge.
During these visits, I felt completely assured by Mr Basu that all was well and always reiterated if I was concerned, I could contact him by email and his secretary anytime to arrange to see me in his next Clinic.
I have had no further complications and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome, 3 months post-op.
Mr Basu is indeed a very welcoming, courteous, extensively knowledgable and truly professional Surgeon, whom I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone considering breast augmentation or breast issues.
Given the complexity of my medical history I could not have asked for more thorough investigations and forward planning to have taken place before my operation and also with a courtesy follow up call after.
Mr Basu is clearly a well-established Surgeon supported by a wonderful Team at both The Spire Hospital, Little Aston and The Priory Edgbaston, Birmingham. A great big Thank you for great quality care and expertise!
