Mr Ali Salih

Mr. Ali Salih is a highly experienced Consultant Oncoplastic Breast and General Surgeon at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, where he specialises in both breast and general surgery. With over 20 years of consultant experience, Mr. Salih is skilled in performing a wide range of surgical procedures, particularly in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. His expertise includes laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal), laparoscopic hernia repair, laparoscopic appendicectomy, and the excision of body lumps and skin lesions.

At Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, Mr. Salih leads the one-stop breast clinic, which offers comprehensive care for both women and men dealing with benign breast changes or breast cancer. He treats numerous breast cancer patients annually, performing complex procedures such as mastectomies, lumpectomies, sentinel node biopsies for breast cancer, axillary clearance, and breast reconstruction in collaboration with a plastic surgeon. His expertise also extends to breast reduction surgeries.

In addition to his role at Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital, Mr. Salih is the Lead Clinician and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Basildon University Hospital, part of the Mid Essex and South Essex University Hospitals Group. He works closely with Professor Ramakrishnan on breast reconstruction procedures at Broomfield Hospital.

Mr. Salih's training in oncoplastic and general surgery was conducted at several prestigious London teaching hospitals, including Guy's and St Thomas', Chelsea Westminster, Hammersmith, and Royal Marsden Hospital. He became a consultant in 2002 and holds a Master’s degree in Breast Cancer Genetics from Imperial College London.

He has made significant contributions to research in the field of breast cancer treatment, publishing numerous papers and advancing techniques such as sentinel node biopsy and breast cancer genetics.
