Graduated 1984
Following Specialist Registrar training at University College Hospital London (1989-1995), I worked as a Consultant haematologist in Basildon Hospital (1996-2012); I then transferred as Head of the Haematololgy Department to Southend Hospital (2012-2026) and semi-retired from the NHS in 2025. I spent 3 years from 2015 to 2018 as Clinical Director for pathology and radiology services. I am currently retained as an Emeritus Consultant Haematologist by Southend Hospital, part of MSE NHS Foundation Trust and I provide private patients' services to Brentwood Nuffield Hospital, Brentwood, and Spire Wellesley Hospital Southend.
With over 30 years' experience in Clinical Haematology at consultant level, I have managed all-comers. In general medical haematology, I am happy to consult on simple iron- or Vitamin B12-deficiency anaemias and iron overload conditions. I have a large practice advising on the risk assessment, investigation and management of patients experiencing thrombosis. In recent years, I have specialised in the management of malignant haematology conditions, such as lymphoma and myeloma, and provide chemotherapy services through the Spire Wellesley Hospital, or home chemotherapy delivery with Sciensus. I am happy to provide second opinions on patients already managed in the NHS, and offer professional validation or commentary of AI-generated advice.
