About Dr Robin Northcote

Dr Robin J Northcote is a Consultant Cardiologist with extensive Cardiology experience and  more than 25 years experience in coronary angiography, angioplasty and Pacemaker Implantation. 

A graduate of the University of Glasgow, he completed his training in the West of Scotland and was awarded an MD in 1986 following a research fellowship. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in developing and introducing several interventional cardiology techniques and Cardiology services in Scotland.

His clinical work has focused on the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, angina and myocardial infarction, particularly through the use of angiography and angioplasty. He also has an interest in Hypertension and Atrial Fibrillation. 

He has carried out research on the cardiac effects of exercise and coronary disease, producing publications that have gained international recognition. This work contributed to his ongoing interest in cardiac rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation and the mechanisms underlying sudden cardiac events during exercise.

Dr Northcote has held senior leadership roles, including nine years as Clinical Director in Medicine  in South Glasgow. He also served for seven years as Registrar at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, where he continues to contribute to postgraduate medical education as Course Director for several programmes in medicine and cardiology.

Very good at listening to symptoms and concerns . This was fed back in a letter/ email to both me and my GP . Arranged for very prompt diagnostic tests which alleviated my concerns as these were accompanied by a full analysis of the tests . Offered support if further concerns arose .

I attended Dr Northcote at Braehead clinic for a consultation, he referred me for a CT Angiogram. Dr called me 2 days later to discuss my report he was very thorough.
