My experience at GenesisCare Surrey was amazing. I chose to have private MRLinac radiotherapy for my prostate cancer in order that my treatment would have the minimum impact on my life and I was not disappointed. I was given an initial appointment within a week of getting approval from my health insurance. As my partner and I were travelling from some distance and staying in Guildford during the 11 days it took for my five treatments, the radiographers were very flexible in arranging the dates to suit us. GenesisCare offered to pay taxi fares for us to travel each time, but as the distance was too far we chose to stay and were amazed when they offered to contribute to our hotel bills, The building was modern and purpose built and the reception area was pleasant, bright and the staff friendly with tea, coffee and snacks on tap. Parking was easy and right outside. The MRLinac suite was similarly well done and the radiographers were friendly, helpful and keen to make things as easy as possible. It was nice to be taken into the control room to meet the team rather than them being shut away behind the glass. All of my treatments started on time and the last two appointments were rearranged so we could leave a day early. The whole experience felt more relaxing than attending a normal medical establishment, in fact more like being at a high-tech research institute. There was a follow-up call from a radiographer after we had been at home for a week to check how I was doing. The MRLinac treatment gave me very little in terms of side effects during the treatment or afterwards and meant we able to explore Guildford and the surrounding area when I wasn't having treatment. The whole experience was much preferable to the standard radiotherapy which would have involved 20 treatments over 4 weeks with months of hormone treatment. I felt confident that the use of MRI scans during treatment ensured the radiotherapy was precisely targeted to give the best results and to limit any damage to other organs. It did require me to lie in the machine for 25-40 mins and to ensure my bowels were empty and my bladder was half full at the time which was a bit tricky. The radiographers were very patient in giving me advice and support to help me achieve this although some more advice at the beginning would have been useful. If you have the option to have treatment at GenesisCare then I can thoroughly recommend it.

Dr. Mackay is one of those rare doctors who with knowledge, experience, interst and genuine warmth. It is always lovely to meet with her, She takes care of her patients very well and peronally. Every consultation feels warm and personal. I was diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis at the age of 26. She cautght it very very early and picking it up so early on, I must say - she is exceptionally talented. I am 30 now, and this disease is out of my life forever (Fingers crossed ). Had she not been there to help me diagnose it at an early stage, I dont know what wouldve happened. I am glad I got the opprtunity to connect with her. So humble and so patient. She takes her time, never rushes, and genuinely makes you feel cared for and understood. She truly takes the time to listen and explain everything clearly. Her medical knowledge is phenomenal, a perfect blend of heart and expertise. Honestly, if there were 7 stars to give, she deserves every single one!

My father was seen short notice on Wednesday the 5th of November which was very much appreciated. Unfortunately he did not have a good experience on his visit. The consultant came to see him in the waiting room and made him roll up his trousers and examined him in front of other people in the waiting room. He made him walk across the room with his trousers rolled up and as my father's hearing is not good he began to talk really loudly to him in front of these other people. I was with him and to be honest it was very degrading and embarrassing for a 79 year old man. He more or less told my father to get on with it and stop taking any antibiotics that were prescribed by his GP. My father ended up having an infection in his knee but unfortunately this man was very dismissive when my father said the knee was sore and had a lump on it and made us feel like we were just bothering him.

I recently visited the London Gynaecology Centre for an appointment with Ms. Mishra, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care I received. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. Ms. Mishra was incredibly thorough, taking the time to explain everything clearly and answer all of my questions without ever making me feel rushed. What stood out most was her kindness—she approached every part of the consultation with genuine compassion and professionalism. It’s rare to find a clinician who is both highly knowledgeable and truly empathetic, but Ms. Mishra embodies both. I left feeling reassured as I could be-in my situation, informed, and very well looked after. I would highly recommend Ms. Mishra and the London Gynaecology Centre to anyone seeking exceptional care.

The hospital is soulless. The staff seem to wander about aimlessly. I sat waiting in an empty waiting room, no water or coffee. My consultant was late, though no one told me. There was no one to ask, I had to try and find someone to track my consultant down. A nurse appeared then sat in the waiting room on her phone on a video call and then on Instagram, she didn’t acknowledge me. They found my consultant who then disappeared again , no idea where she went. She was over a half an hour late for my appointment, not great but made worse that no one bothered to come out and tell me. Very poor experience and not what I expected from this hospital.

Mark Norton met me at the appointed time and explained that the Xray showed osteoarthritis in my left hip. Although not critical he recommended a hip replacement before the pain I was experiencing became worse. He said he could fit in the operation in early January if I was wishing to proceed. I said that time would suit me. He examined my legs which confirmed the problem and then passed me paperwork and consent form to enable him to proceed. I was then introduced to a Nurse who dealt with the initial preoperative tests. All together everything was conducted in a efficient and professional manner.

Staff all good, but I had been given inaccurate info before the appt and didn’t wear contact lenses for 2 weeks beforehand altho this was unnecessary as all measurements had already been taken. I then had to wait over an hour to be seen, longer than for the NHS appt. When I mentioned the long wait I was told this was because everyone had wanted a long discussion as they were private appts! Surely this is to be expected and the solution is not to overbook appts. I can’t comment yet on the procedure as haven’t had it yet.

I was referred to Nephrology as my creatinine levels were significant high in various test during the last 1 2 months and also as part of other illness. Dr Brincat was amazing explaining all related to my consultation, help me to get any test required the same day I visited in person and then the same week we had a follow up appointment where he explained the results and next steps. Not only very efficient time response, but also the kindness and professionalism explaining and making sure I understood what was happening.

All in all a fantastic experience dealing with the Forbury Clinic, I had a vasectomy procedure and dealt with surgeon Paul Hadway and his team who were great, from my first consultation to the actual procedure Paul put me at complete ease, from start to finish it’s been a pleasure dealing with him and the Forbury Clinic, I only wish now that I had the procedure carried out many years ago. If anyone is thinking about having a vasectomy I would 100% recommend Paul and his Team at The Forbury Clinic.

I have recently had a pre- op assessment and two cataract operations with Miss Gilvarry being the surgeon. I cannot fault the entire process. Miss Gilvarry is an accomplished explainer and empathises with the patient. She has a great team backing her up as well. The two operations she performed were completely painless and as far as I am aware, perfectly successful (I am writing this only one day after the second of the ops). I cannot recommend Miss Gilvarry highly enough!

Dr Patel is always very thorough, listens carefully to my concerns and treats everything holistically. He performed a sinus/throat exam and was very reassuring as I'm always anxious with medical procedures. He showed me the video of the exam afterwards which I found really helpful, it's nice to get to really see what's going on and not just have to take someone's word for it. Would definitely recommend Dr Patel to others with ENT concerns.
