With more than 30 years of wide experience and training in ophthalmology, especially Cataract surgery and medical retina. Mrs Prakash offers treatment and expertise on a wide variety of ocular conditions including: small incision cataract surgery, phacoemulsification with monofocal and multifocal intraocular lenses, age related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disorders, retinal vascular occlusions, intravitreal therapies, therapeutic lasers, eyelid surgeries, glaucoma, dry eyes, and general ophthalmology. She has a broad range of expertise across all areas of ophthalmology.
She completed her medical degree in 1993 and obtained a Master of Surgery degree in 1997. She currently holds a number of positions, including Consultant Ophthalmologist at Southampton University hospital (ad hoc),MAC representative at Rivers Hospital for Ophthalmology.
Mrs Prakash has been very active in research; clinical trials in particular as a Principal Investigator in approved clinical trials at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Essex. Additionally, she holds a position as a CESR assessor at Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London.

15 minutes wait, but Mrs Prakash is always kind and explains what happens next. However I did think I was going to have the Lazer treatment today.

I am Mrs Priya Prakash, a Consultant Ophthalmologist working in both the NHS and the private sector here in the United Kingdom. Thank you for taking a moment to visit my Doctify page. I have been caring for patients with eye problems for more than 30 years, with a particular focus on cataract surgery using both monofocal and premium intraocular lens implants. I am also a medical retina consultant, specialising in conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions, as well as many other retinal conditions. In addition, I see patients with glaucoma, dry eyes, eyelid problems and many other causes of blurred or reduced vision. I like to take time to understand your concerns, explain the diagnosis in clear, simple language, and talk through all the options so that we can decide on the best plan together.
