His clinical work includes the management of conditions such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), gastrointestinal bleeding, anaemia, and gastrointestinal cancers affecting the oesophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, and anorectal region. He has a particular specialist interest in advanced endoscopic techniques, especially non-surgical removal of colonic polyps and capsule endoscopy.
He completed his specialist gastroenterology training at Royal London Hospital, where he also obtained his MRCP during higher specialist training. He undertook advanced clinical research at St Mark’s Hospital, a leading international centre for intestinal and colorectal disease, focusing on advanced therapeutic polypectomy techniques. This research led to the award of an MD from Imperial College London in 2012.
Dr Gupta has held an honorary consultant post at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he contributes to bowel cancer screening colonoscopy services. He also previously worked at Princess Alexandra Hospital, where he was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist in 2012 following completion of his specialist training.
Alongside his NHS and academic roles, he works as an independent provider, delivering a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic services. He has significant expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures and has also held a leadership role in endoscopy training. His approach combines evidence-based care with advanced minimally invasive techniques, with a strong focus on early diagnosis, cancer prevention, and high-quality patient outcomes.

Dr Sachin Gupta is professional and clear when interacting with patients. He makes patients feel at ease and provides reassurance for various procedures, including colonoscopies and gastroscopies, with thorough explanations. Dr Gupta demonstrates expert knowledge and is attentive, listening well while offering comprehensive guidance for ongoing care. His service is highly valued for investigations concerning bowel and stomach health.
Dr. Gupta is kind, patient, and very attentive. He listened to all my worries, answered every question clearly, reassured me about my concerns, and made me feel completely at ease during my consultation.
I feel telephone appointments tend to have a rushed feel about them. Dr Gupta is very knowledgable and my questions are answered but a slightly longer discussion/more details of the condition would be beneficial. It perhaps Would be beneficial to have a face to face every now and then
This was a checkup via telephone consultation. This works extremely well as although I am constantly being monitored, it frees up my time as it’s a quick conversation without the need of driving to and from the hospital. I also know that if I did need to speak with Dr Gupta, I can contact his secretary.
I had a great experience. everything was explained and all promises were kept. I was kept at ease and made to feel comfortable.
Dr Gupta is simply the best. He couldn’t improve on anything. Amazing service throughout.
The telephone appointment was brilliant. Dr Gupta was reassuring and listened to my concerns. Gave a clear explanation of plans going forward. Thank you.
This was my third visit to Dr Gupta's clinic so I was familiar with what would take place. Initially questions were asked, at the bedside, as to medical history, medications, aftercare when leaving the hospital and so on. Blood pressure was taken. I was asked to change into a gown and remove any clothing containing metal fasteners, zippers or underwires. I was also asked to remove a watch and any jewellery. Before the procedure Dr Gupta came to the bedside to ask how I was and to explain what would be happening on this occasion. A nurse took me through for the procedure. I was aware of very little during the procedure and I woke to be offered a cup of tea with toast and jam, which allowed for recovery time. I dressed and went to the main reception area to wait for the person collecting me.
