I am a Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, with my NHS practice based at King George Hospital (Goodmayes) and Queen’s Hospital (Romford, Essex). My specialist interests include adult foot and ankle surgery (both simple and complex) and paediatric orthopaedics, though I also manage general trauma and orthopaedic conditions, including hip and knee surgery.
I am committed to delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care, offering minimally invasive surgery, arthroscopic procedures, and advanced ankle replacement techniques to optimise recovery and function. My approach to private practice reflects my NHS work; I provide a professional, compassionate service, ensuring that every patient receives the highest standard of treatment tailored to their needs.
I am an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University, London, dedicated to teaching and training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons. I organise and teach on various practical orthopaedic and FRCS examination courses, including:
I played a key role in Queen’s Hospital being named 'Training Hospital of the Year 2014' for Trauma & Orthopaedics in the Royal London Rotation, and my contributions to training have been recognised through multiple awards.
I believe in clear communication, shared decision-making, and personalised treatment plans to help patients regain mobility and return to daily activities as quickly as possible. My practice is driven by compassion and professionalism, ensuring every patient receives the best possible care, whether through conservative management or surgery.
I live in Essex with my wife, a GP, and our two sons and daughter. Outside of work, I enjoy cricket, reading, travelling, spending time with my family, and experimenting with Indian cooking.

Procedures such as ankle fusion, Achilles tendon reconstruction, and bunionectomy are highlighted for successful outcomes, often involving diagrams and models for patient understanding. His expertise ensures comprehensive care across a wide range of orthopaedic issues, notably encompassing foot and ankle surgery and sports injuries.
Mr V is very good with my 8 year old daughter and made her feel at ease. He was clear and concise talking through the results and concerns we had. Thank you again
From the moment you meet Krishna you feel a sense you are in good hands …..although I already had so much diagnostic information at hand he still wanted to hear everything first hand …..he then explained what he believed should happen next which meant referring me to another surgeon who was in a better position to deal with all outcomes …..he was more than capable of doing the procedure himself but cared enough to suggest this ……this is a surgeon who is ultimately more interested in the patient care than financial gain ……cannot speak highly enough and am personally gutted that I now won’t be under his care. I have such respect for his honesty.
Dr Vemulapalli was so kind and explained his diagnosis of the condition so well. He made us feel completely at peace regarding the process going forward.
Very professional and friendly surgeon. We came to see him as a second opinion from NHS, and made the best decision. Very happy with overall treatment my son received.
Mr V patiently explained the injury, the steps and what the long term plan is
I was referred to this doctor by another doctor. He listened carefully, ensured he understood the experience I had had with previous doctors and looked at all areas of my ankle problem. He spent time talking about why I was experiencing the pain I was in, and what to expect in my recovery and explained so I understood without using too much technical jargon. Thank you for your time and expertise. And as said today, I hope not to see you again for all the right reasons.
Mr V has been amazing in helping me get back on my feet after an ankle break and ligament damage. He is very professional, explains everything incredibly well but also delivers everything with warmth, kindness and enthusiasm. I feel I have made incredible progress since visiting him.
Mr Vemulapalli is a polite and softly spoken person. He took the time to listen to my description of my symptoms and then explained his diagnosis in simple terms and answered my numerous questions
Dr Vemulapalli is extremely professional and the best in game. He was so gentle and caring towards my daughter who has clubfoot. He always makes her feel comfortable and makes her laugh before starting anything as she has a little anxiety going to see any doctors. He also done her surgery which was done so smoothly and he really comforted us as her parents going through everything in details and making sure we were okay with everything. Hats off to you Dr Vemulapalli and everything you do.
Excellent surgeon and colleague Would strongly recommend him
