Mr Mrinal Saharay

Mr Mrinal Saharay is a Consultant Surgeon who specialises in Endocrine and Colorectal Surgery. He completed his training in the North East Thames region and was awarded a PhD in surgery by London University in 1998. Mr Saharay is currently Clinical Lead for thyroid surgery at Queens Hospital, Romford and Network Lead for the North East Thames Cancer Network.

He specialises thyroid surgery, minimally-invasive parathyroid surgery, and surgery for tumours of the parotid (salivary) gland. He also has clinical expertise in major bowel operations for both cancers and benign conditions. He has a particular clinical interest in the treatment of haemorrhoids; he is able to perform Circular Stapled Haemorrhoidectomy for prolapse and haemorrhoids (PPH). He also performs gastroscopy and colonoscopy investigations, along with general surgical operations including hernia repair and laparoscopic (keyhole) gallbladder surgery.

Mr Saharay is actively involved in clinical research and has published various papers in international journals. He is regularly invited to present his work at meetings and has membership with the British Medical Association, Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland, British Association of Endocrine Surgeons and the Expert Witness Institute.
