Mr Samrat Mukherjee

Mr. Samrat Mukherjee is a highly skilled Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with a focus on Upper GI surgery. With a wealth of experience and expertise, Mr. Mukherjee specialises in a range of clinical interests including gallstones and biliary disease, oesophago-gastric cancer, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, hiatus hernia, and achalasia.

Mr. Mukherjee's impressive journey in medicine began with his qualification from Calcutta University, India in 2001. Following this, he completed extensive training in India, becoming a certified General Surgeon in 2005. He honed his skills further through specialised training in general and upper gastrointestinal surgery in London. During this time, he had the privilege of working at renowned institutions such as the Royal Marsden Hospital and University College London Hospital, both prominent oesophagogastric cancer units in the Southeast of England.

Mr. Mukherjee is particularly skilled in laparoscopic procedures like cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and anti-reflux surgery. His dedication extends to diagnosing and treating oesophago-gastric cancers.

Mr. Mukherjee's commitment to advancing medical knowledge is reflected in his involvement in clinical research, with over 30 publications and numerous international and national presentations. He is an esteemed member of key organisations including the Association of Upper GI Surgeons (AUGIS), the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and the General Medical Council.
