Dr Hughes has been excellent. The whole journey as a patient has been great experience and the results are better than I could have wished for.

Thyroid cancer was picked up incidentally on an MR for something unrelated. I saw Mr Hughes for advice about surgery and underwent a hemi-thyroidectomy and later a completion thyroidectomy. Mr Hughes explained the advantages and disadvantages of the surgica options. In addition to being an excellent surgeon, he is patient and empathetic. He obviously cares for his patients and wants them to have the best possible outcome.

I cannot speak highly enough of Mr Jonathan Hughes, who diagnosed and treated me for tonsil cancer, performing my TORS (transoral robotic surgery) and neck dissection. From my first consultation through to my post-surgery recovery, his care has been outstanding. Mr Hughes’ manner put me at ease immediately. He combines genuine warmth and compassion with exceptional professionalism, making what could have been an overwhelming experience far more manageable. His communication was exemplary: he took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions thoroughly, and ensured I understood what to expect at each stage of my diagnosis, surgery and recovery. His skill as a surgeon is evident in my pathology results and recovery. Throughout he has inspired complete confidence, providing reassurance at every step to my wife as well as to me, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be under his care.
