About Mr Javed Uddin
Mr Javed Uddin is an Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant with extensive experience and expertise in the whole range of Ear, Nose and Throat conditions. He has a desire for innovation and surgical advancement and has developed a super-specialist practice in endoscopic (keyhole) surgery for ear, nose and throat disorders. He also offers specialist clinics for nasal and sinus problems, children's disorders and has a keen clinical interest in thyroid disease and head and neck cancer, and has set up a dedicated neck lump clinic to study his interest further.
Dr Uddin's specialist care and knowledge, along with his detailed diagnostic skills, have enabled him to become East Midland's foremost ENT surgeon and specialist. With his dedication to delivering quality care for patients in a friendly and personable manner, whilst training the next generation of doctors and surgeons, he is at the forefront of his field and is delivering top-quality care on a daily basis.
He was appointed to the post of ENT consultant at the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2012 and is the current head of the ENT service in Leicester.
Since completing his training in all aspects of ENT disease, Dr Uddin undertook a specialist fellowship training in advanced thyroid and head and neck disease and has worked in NHS university teaching hospitals for more than twenty years.
He has been awarded the prestigious Gold medal from the Royal Society of Medicine for his outstanding performance in the national final surgical exams, prior to his consultant appointment.
More recently, his current medical research is based on the growth of new blood vessels in tumours, as well as observational patterns in sinus disease and the link between the nose and the lungs.

I actually cried when I got back in the car. Finally a dr who listened and knows what they’re talking about. My baby is 4 months old and she’s been struggling breathing / an awful cough since she was 10 days old. I’ve been to a&e and back and the drs numerous times and no one has taken it seriously until Dr Uddin. He is now pushing everything through in a fraction of the time. We can’t thank you enough!

Dr Uddin seen my 3 year old son as i thought he might have glue ear, which was affecting his speech. Dr Uddin confirmed this was correct, he explained everything really well, was very friendly and professional. He gave us a couple of options and we went with my son having grommets. on operation day everyone was brilliant and the operation was done so quickly. id definitely recommend Dr Uddin.
Mr Uddin was brilliant from the initial consultation, through to Orla’s operation and follow-up care. He was straight-talking, reassuring and gave us clear, detailed information and advice throughout. He was fantastic with Orla and made us both feel completely at ease and confident in his care. We couldn’t have asked for better care and I would highly recommend him.
Efficient booking and straight forward appointments. I cannot express how happy we are with the outcome of our daughter’s care we only wish we had seen a consultant earlier.
