About Mr Javed Uddin
Mr Javed Uddin is an Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant with extensive experience and expertise in the whole range of Ear, Nose and Throat conditions. He has a desire for innovation and surgical advancement and has developed a super-specialist practice in endoscopic (keyhole) surgery for ear, nose and throat disorders. He also offers specialist clinics for nasal and sinus problems, children's disorders and has a keen clinical interest in thyroid disease and head and neck cancer, and has set up a dedicated neck lump clinic to study his interest further.
Dr Uddin's specialist care and knowledge, along with his detailed diagnostic skills, have enabled him to become East Midland's foremost ENT surgeon and specialist. With his dedication to delivering quality care for patients in a friendly and personable manner, whilst training the next generation of doctors and surgeons, he is at the forefront of his field and is delivering top-quality care on a daily basis.
He was appointed to the post of ENT consultant at the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2012 and is the current head of the ENT service in Leicester.
Since completing his training in all aspects of ENT disease, Dr Uddin undertook a specialist fellowship training in advanced thyroid and head and neck disease and has worked in NHS university teaching hospitals for more than twenty years.
He has been awarded the prestigious Gold medal from the Royal Society of Medicine for his outstanding performance in the national final surgical exams, prior to his consultant appointment.
More recently, his current medical research is based on the growth of new blood vessels in tumours, as well as observational patterns in sinus disease and the link between the nose and the lungs.

Mr Javed Uddin has been extremely helpful and informative throughout my several visits with him at the clinic. I could not recommend him more given his clear professional nature and how calming he has been for the entire process.
My daughter (6) is neurodivergent and has had a lot of anxiety around having her tonsils removed. Mr Uddin was incredibly patient with her through the consultation so much so she said to us on the way home “Is he doing my operation? Because I trust him” all her anxiety disappeared and on op day she had a big smile on her face as he came in to see her. Her operation went incredibly smoothly, no complications and an incredibly smooth recovery. She no longer snores, is so much more comfortable even drinking, sleeps better and is brighter and happier day to day. We are so grateful to Mr Uddin and all the staff at Nuffield health for supporting us all as a family through a worrying time. The services and care at Nuffield have been incredible. Pre op really supported my daughter feeling comfortable meeting her nurse and seeing her room and being talked through her cannular in such a child friendly way she was looking forward to her web shooter! Can’t thank you all enough.
