Dr Protty and his team promptly booked me in to see him as a new patient. I had been suffering for many months with symptoms that happen whilst I am running, which started also happening when resting. As a middle aged woman, I worried about my heart being the cause of these especially in light of my family history. Dr Protty addressed my symptoms and investigated them to help me reach a conclusion that would allow me to treat the symptoms. Very responsive communication, excellent bedside manner, and great at simplifying complex medical concepts (I am not familiar with medical terms, so needed to understand them in simple terms). Following increasing difficulties with general physical exertion, shortness of breath accompanied by some intermittent chest pains like a chest cramp. I was referred to a Virtual Ward at the UHW Heath Hospital. As an outpatient I was seen initially by a General Medical Consultant and following a number of diagnostic tests and procedures, I was referred to a Thoracic Consultant, then onto a Cardiac Consultant, Dr Majd Protty. Dr Protty was a delight, with patience and an amazing demeaner. He went to great lengths to help alleviate my concerns and to explain my current issues together with options available to help resolve my issues. Following consultation he arranged to carry out an Angiogram and some further diagnostics. The Angiogram was carried out quickly and effectively clearly illustrating some arterial heart obstruction. Dr Protty offered me an opportunity for him to perform an Angioplasty procedure to address my condition, removing the obstructions, opening the artery up and providing Stent support. The Angioplasty was straight forward with explanations/procedures carried out by Dr Protty supported by an amazing Theatre Team. Prognosis: Breathing back to normal Chest Pains gone and re-building my fitness . With My Grateful Thanks.
