Dr Negar Maghsoodi - MD, MSc, FRCPath

Dr Negar Maghsoodi is a Consultant Chemical Pathologist and Lipid Specialist based in Surrey and Sussex. She works within University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust and provides private consultations in London at Weymouth Street Hospital and in Worthing at Southlands Hospital. She also runs NHS lipid clinics at Dorking Healthcare Outpatient Department following GP referral.

Her clinical practice focuses on the assessment and management of lipid disorders, including hypercholesterolaemia and familial hypercholesterolaemia, as well as metabolic syndrome, menopause-related lipid changes, and mild to moderate obesity. She provides cardiovascular risk assessment and advises on investigations such as carotid artery ultrasound, coronary CT angiography, and coronary calcium scoring.

She manages lipid conditions using a range of therapies, including statins, PCSK9 inhibitors, inclisiran, and weight management treatments such as GLP-1 analogues. Her work includes evaluation, diagnosis, and long-term management of cardiometabolic risk factors.

Dr Maghsoodi completed higher specialist training in Chemical Pathology through the South East London rotation, including posts at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. She holds an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry from University College London and is a Visiting Senior Lecturer at Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
