About Dr Ozan Hanci
Dr. Ozan Hanci is a highly experienced Consultant Paediatrician at The Royal Surrey County Hospital, where he has worked since 2014. He trained at St. George's Hospital Medical School between 1997 and 2002 and began his specialist paediatric training in the London deanery in 2003. Dr. Hanci's work involves providing care for a wide range of paediatric patients, from premature infants to adolescents and young adults with complex chronic illnesses such as cancer. His responsibilities include running both general and specialist outpatient clinics, as well as caring for acutely unwell patients in the paediatric ward, special care baby unit, and paediatric A&E.
Dr. Hanci is a recognised expert in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. He has been awarded SPIN accreditation from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) and the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN). He has led the Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) service at The Royal Surrey County Hospital since 2014.
With a strong interest in clinical nutrition, Dr. Hanci holds an MSc in this field, and his dissertation on coeliac disease was used in a government consultation. His research has been presented both nationally and internationally, and he has received awards for his contributions to the field.

Dr Hanci put both myself and my daughter at ease immediately. My daughter is 14 years old which is a tricky age. She is neurodiverse and so not all encounters with professional adults are comfortable but the opposite was the case with Dr Hanci. He actively listened and took lots of time to understand symptoms but more general information about my daughter and her challenges to understand the bigger picture. Dr Hanci is clearly very knowledgeable and experienced and we felt in the best hands. Dr Hanci took the time to explain the diagnosis, possible treatments and non medical interventions that may also be helpful. My daughter said she felt heard and trusted Dr Hanci. We can't thank him enough for the his time, care, expertise, thoroughness of his investigations and holistic approach.
Dr Hanci is a thorough practitioner who cares about the wellbeing of his patients and always ensures that all concerns are addressed and investigated. He has a calm, reassuring manner and he has a holistic approach..
Dr Hanci has made my 15 year old daughter feel so heard. For the first time in years it feels like we are starting to take the right steps forward to unravel what is going on in her abdomen area. I really like Dr Hanci's investigative approach and willingness to take a deeper dive. He was so kind to my daughter and myself especially as I have been a bit frantic with worry. We literally skipped out of our last appointment feeling happy that we had been given a diagnoses and a confident medication plan plus an understanding of what the next steps might be. We saw Dr Hanci at a community presentation on Children's Gut health and his knowledge was very impressive, we learnt a lot and feel very lucky that my daughter now has him in the driving seat of her medical care.
