I had full hip replacement 6 weeks ago. Mr Massa had explained the process fully. The operation went well. I was out of hospital for the following day. One of my concerns as an aging athlete was the potential time for rehabilitation and a loss of fitness. Mr Massa gave reassurance & advice as to what I could expect & achieve. I was on a turbo on the 14th day and managed to cycle 50 miles on week 6 post Op. Mr Massa is both approachable & knowledgeable.

Mr Massa is one of a kind. The level of care that I have received in the lead up to, during, and following on from my surgery have been unparalleled. I’ve gone from struggling to walk, to being active and moving comfortably. He has taken the time throughout my recovery to put my mind at ease, to discuss my progress and assess my set backs when they came.

At 49, I never expected to need a total hip replacement, but after years of worsening groin pain and increasing restriction in my movement, I finally discovered the underlying cause was hip dysplasia that had led to premature osteoarthritis and the complete loss of cartilage in my left hip joint. By the time I met Mr Massa, even simple things like sitting cross-legged or moving comfortably had become difficult, and the pain was a constant part of daily life. From the very first consultation, I felt completely reassured. Mr Massa was not only highly skilled but also compassionate, taking the time to explain the condition clearly and outline the options available to me. I felt listened to, supported, and confident that I was in the best possible hands. The surgery itself was a success, and although the first couple of weeks was a bit challenging the care I received throughout the process was outstanding. The recovery and physiotherapy rehabilitation was straight forward and at every stage I felt confident in the expertise behind my treatment. Now, eight months later, the transformation is fantastic. A few muscle twinges here and there but I’m back to living the life I love with my two energetic boys, walking my dog, riding my horse, and moving freely without constant pain or the need to take regular painkillers. I cannot thank my Mr Massa enough for his exceptional skill and care and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone facing hip problems or considering joint replacement surgery.

Mr Massa has been fantastic from the start of my operation to the the post op he is a absolute credit to the Oaks hospital and a fantastic surgeon , I wouldn’t use anyone else and also all the staff at the Oaks are fantastic too..

I was referred to Mr Massa by another consultant who felt that my surgery was too complex for him, due to a pre-existing medical condition. Mr Massa was completely confident that he could provide the surgery I needed, and explained the extra measures he would take in theatre. Thanks to his expertise I feel as though I have my been given my life back again. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
