Mr Edward Massa

I have had increasing hip pain and lack of mobility for years. I saw a consultant last year who said, yes, there are problems but we don’t really operate on people your age (mid 40’s). After some physio, I was referred for a second opinion to Mr Massa, he was completely on board with help and solutions. After reviewing my x-ray I was offered a total hip replacement. I had it done a few weeks later and have made a fabulous recovery. The whole process was supportive, professional and caring. I feel great! Thank you so much Mr Massa!

Mr. Massa was very professional is explaining the benefits and risks of the total hip replacement surgical procedures. He carried out first the total right hip replacement in October 2025, which was very successful. Eight months later I underwent a total left hip replacement which was also successful. I have no hesitation in recommending him as orthopaedic surgeon for hip replacement operations.

Clear explanation of the product used and benefits were given prior to the hip operation. Following complication due to my anatomy that was resolved within the operation I have made a full speedy recovery. Had rigorous testing at the operation phase not been completed by Mr Massa then I surely would have had some additional problems. Great work very satisfied and have felt better and stronger post operation than in many years.

I came to Mr Massa having been practically crippled by being continually fobbed off by the another hospital. He was kind, confident and reassuring he made sure I knew everything that was going to happen including the risks. Once he had seen my X-rays it took 3 weeks from consultation to operation. My operation was a complex one to do due to being left so long and I had weight issues as well. He did an excellent job and I had no complications. Mr massa has changed my life for the better. From the first meeting he was able to put me at ease as I suffer with severe white coat syndrome, he was very understanding and very clear when explaining the procedure I was going to have. Mr Massa is one of the most cheerful,courteous consultants I’ve ever had the pleasure to be treated by(and I’ve seen quite a few in my yrs!) he puts you at ease from the very first introduction,to explaining the minute detail of every procedure you need to have. He takes his time to make sure that you fully understand everything that’s going on before you leave the appointment too. Also,for any queries that you’ve forgotten when you see him,his P.A. Hayley is always extremely helpful in liasing between Mr Massa and yourself if needed,too. All in,I’d 1000% definitely recommend Mr Massa for any treatment that you’re looking to have,as he’s a very safe pair of hands for you to put your health in. My last visit with Mr Massa was a post op review after a hip replacement. It was only 7 wks after my operation,but I’m back to pretty much everything I was doing before my op,and more. He was his usual,jolly self,and went through everything with me regarding future treatment I’ll need. All in,an appointment I actually look forward to attending,as you get treated as a patient,not just a name on a screen,and that truly does make all the difference.

Mr Massa had a wonderful disposition and manner that put you at ease. The operation went without a hitch and wound recovery was problem free , no infection. He showed me all x-rays and scans explaining what the issues had been and how they had been resolved. I would be more than happy to recommend him to anyone needing the same surgery.
