I have been so pleased with my experience of surgery by Dr Shilen Patel. At the first consultation he explained very clearly and in detail what my operation would entail and the possible risks, but without scaring me. This gave me a lot of confidence for the day of the operation, and the surgery went very well. When dressings were removed 10 days after my operation I was really surprised to see how neat the wound was, and it was healing nicely. I had very little pain, and Mr Patel explained to me at my follow up appointment that the tumour had been removed fully without rupturing, so there is very little chance of it returning. He had also explained how they had worked to ensure they did not damage a nearby nerve which I had been so relieved about. In conclusion, I was very pleased with the overall treatment received and with the care and respect I was shown. Thank you.

On the day Dr Abdi ensured I was made comfortable throughout the procedure, and during my recovery period my queries were always answered promptly. I visited for an US abdominal and internal after NHS scan could not find my ovaries due and I was very anxious to find out if theses were causing my pain. I was fortunately referred by my GP quickly and seen the following day. The experience was totally different to the NHS one. My questions were answered rather than the NHS “you will need to speak with your doctor “ response to every question. The consultant Christina spent time to get the necessary images and did advise further scans to eliminate any issues with bowel/colon. The whole experience was very comfortable and I did not feel like I was being a nuisance by asking questions about my body!! Thank you so much. It was ++ reassuring and did also identify a condition which I may have causing the pain.

I was extremely happy with the hospital and the level of care I received. From the moment I arrived, all of the nurses and staff were kind, professional, and incredibly attentive. I felt genuinely well looked after at every stage before and after surgery. The nursing team made me feel comfortable, reassured, and supported, always checking in on me and making sure I had everything I needed. Their calm and caring approach made a big difference and helped me feel at ease throughout my stay. Because of a history of skin cancer on both sides of my family, I try to receive regular comprehensive skin checks to ensure I am aware of any skin lesions that need to be treted or monitored. I had not had a regular check in several years, but Dr. Maslin put me at ease by taking a thorough accounting of my family history and performing a very thorough check, as well as making sure he answered all of my questions. Different time slots and sessions or more flexibility. Clearer communication between services and funders. Digital timetable, links and resources could benefit from being clearer/more easy to find. Mixed bag of staff, although the weaker ones did go quite quickly it still felt as though I was a bit of a guinea pig and didn't get as much from those sessions. Core team very caring, compassionate and supportive. Environment is an downside, a shared office building is not the best setting.

Exceptional consultant Mr Minas gave me the option of keyhole surgery for a full hysterectomy which the NHS did not offer which was quicker recovery and less scarring.
