From my very first consultation through to my surgery and follow-up care, Mr Modi inspired complete confidence. He explained my severe mitral valve regurgitation clearly and honestly, taking the time to answer every question and ensuring both my wife and I fully understood the procedure and expected recovery. I underwent open heart mitral valve repair under his care as I was not suitable for minimal invasive surgery. Mr Modi's expertise, professionalism and calm, reassuring manner made what was naturally an anxious time much easier to face. The operation was a complete success, and my recovery has progressed remarkably well. I was also extremely impressed by the excellent teamwork of everyone involved in my care, from the nursing staff to the wider cardiac team. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Mr Modi to anyone requiring cardiac surgery. He is an outstanding surgeon whose technical skill is matched by genuine compassion and care for his patients.

Mr Modi provides a personal service and ensured I had the right operation. I had 1st Robot Assisted bypass (MIDCAB) LIMA-LAD) at Manchester Spire and discharged after 4 nights. All staff supporting are friendly and I have got to 10,000 steps after 14 days. (5 x 20mins walks a day).

Follow up appointment at one year and discharge

Mr Modi put me at ease, explained all the options and risks involved. I opted for full open heart surgery triple bypass. I had 5 weeks to wait as opposed to 33 weeks if done through National Health. The operation was done 18 days ago. The following day I was standing and came out of hospital after 5 days. Yesterday I walked a mile and a half. Since leaving hospital the only pain relief I have had is paracetamol. My scars are healing nicely. There is no real pain but a bit of discomfort, especially at night when i wake every hour or so. I also get tired during the day and find going to bed for a couple of hours helps. Overall I am amazed at how well I am doing.
