I don’t usually write reviews, but after my experience with Mr. Chan, I really felt he deserved one. I’d been dealing with pain in both of my feet for almost a year, and from my very first appointment, I felt like he genuinely took my concerns seriously. He didn’t make me feel rushed or dismissed. Instead, he took the time to listen, asked lots of questions, and really wanted to understand what was causing my pain rather than just treating it. One thing that really stood out to me was that he asked about my overall wellbeing as well. It made me feel like he was looking at the bigger picture and trying to understand me as a whole person, not just my feet. That level of care and attention is something I haven’t experienced before. Every time I saw Mr Chan, I left feeling listened to and reassured. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, but what makes him stand out is how kind, thoughtful, and approachable he is. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping his patients. I truly hope I will never need lower limb surgery, but if I ever do, there isn’t anyone else I’d rather have looking after me than Mr. Chan. He’s an excellent orthopaedic surgeon, but just as importantly, he’s a genuinely lovely person. Thank you, Mr. Chan!

I booked an appointment with Mr Chan for a second opinion at very short notice and I was extremely impressed with the experience. From the very beginning of my treatment in 2021 following a trimalleolar fracture, Dr Chan has provided a level of care that I genuinely don't think can be matched. Over the years, I have undergone multiple procedures under his care, and throughout every stage, from the initial consultations to surgery and follow-up appointments I have always felt completely safe, listened to, and supported. His surgical skill is exceptional, but what truly sets him apart is the way he treats his patients. Despite what I know must be an incredibly demanding workload, I have never once felt like just another patient. Every appointment has been unhurried, attentive and personal. He takes the time to explain everything honestly and realistically, answers every question with patience, and approaches every interaction with genuine empathy and professionalism. Trust is something that has to be earned, particularly when you're facing surgery, and Dr Chan earned mine from the very beginning. Knowing that he was overseeing my care gave me complete confidence and reassurance, and that is something I will always be grateful for. It is difficult to find the words to express just how much his care has meant to me over the past few years. Looking back, I genuinely cannot think of a single aspect of my treatment that I would have wanted to be different. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been under his care, and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is not only an outstanding surgeon but also an exceptional doctor and human being.

As a result of a swelling/bump on the side of my foot and some general foot discomfort/pain, I consulted Mr. Chan. He was not recommended to me. I simply chose from the list of orthopaedic foot specialist consultants practising at Shirley Oaks Hospital. I liked his clear professionalism from the outset. He listened to the problem I presented him with, examined my foot sympathetically, and explain explained the way forward. I saw him again after some further tests. I like the way in which he shared the radiologist’s findings with me, explaining them clearly line by line. He was able to give me three options for treatment and asked intelligent and insightful questions which helped me to make a decision. I would thoroughly recommend Mr. Chan. I will be going back to see him in six months time for a follow-up. Overall, a sage doctor, coupled with warmth and empathy. I would recommend this consultant.
