Everything was excellent from my initial on the phone conversation to reception to all staff and their ways of doing things. This is for sure an excellent hospital. This is a genuinely caring hospital striving to do the very best for people. They make all dealings with them easy and pleasant. They continue to get 5 star reviews. It is correct that they are a 5 star hospital in all ways. I feel guilty towards others who do not get such a good service from other hospitals. The hospital has staff that know how to treat us properly. They are very professional and they certainly solved my years long problems. They did this easily and very willingly. If you go with this hospital the chances are very high that you will also get a 5 star service. I'm very grateful to this hospital.

From the moment I entered the hospital for a consultation followed by day surgery my experience was so positive. I felt I was in very good hands and any anxiety was taken away.

Shirley Oaks is clean, actually smelt nice, it was also very fast paced, I was delightfully surprised. Everyone was friendly and hospitable.

On the day of admission the service was very well organised and efficient. However, the pre-op assessment was quite stressful as we were made to wait without any explanation. Having registered with reception we were taken to the waiting room which was quite dismal. After waiting for quite a while and beyond our appointment time I had to go to reception to enquire what was going on. She checked we were booked in and went to the pre-op rooms, knocked on the door without getting an answer. She heard voices and assumed that they were with a patient. Finally, two nurses came and asked me to fill in a form. I became rather upset through anxiety of having to wait. We just felt that we purposely arrived before our appointment time and expected to be seen respectfully. We were told that they were short staffed. Someone could have come to keep us informed so that we didn’t have to feel so anxious.
