About Skylight Psychiatry
Skylight Psychiatry is a remote CQC-regulated specialist multidisciplinary service for adults. Their mission is to provide support, understanding, and a pathway to a brighter future for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and Down Syndrome, as well as those seeking assessment and support without a formal diagnosis.
Founded by two passionate professionals who shared a common vision, Skylight Psychiatry emerged from their recognition of the pressing need for improved access to timely assessments and treatment for the neurodiverse population. Informed by their own professional and personal experiences, they identified the challenges faced by individuals awaiting support within the stretched NHS services, especially during the global pandemic.
In addition to their commitment to providing comprehensive care, the team at Skylight Psychiatry are dedicated to environmental responsibility. They are actively working to reduce their carbon footprint, with a goal of becoming entirely paperless and carbon-neutral in the near future.
Skylight Psychiatry also takes an active role in advocating for awareness of neurodevelopmental disorders. They offer training programs designed for employers, caregivers, family members, healthcare professionals, and the general public. By fostering understanding and breaking down stigmas, Skylight Psychiatry seeks to ensure that individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders are treated fairly and receive the reasonable adjustments they deserve, in accordance with the Equality Act of 2010.

My experience was very friendly with easy communication.

I found the whole process really easy to understand and follow. Especially the prediagnostic web page. All the instructions were really clear ajd laid out in a logical way. All my communications with admin staff were great. They were very straight forward and explained things clearly and confirmed with me what was happening, so i always felt secure knowing what to expect. The wait times given to me at every stage we're very accurate, and I appreciate this. The staff who conducted my assessments were both pleasant and professional. They made sure I understood how to provide more information if I wanted to, and it made me feel like I had agency in the assessment process. I found the information I received for my diagnostic report very clearly explained as well Overall, I have had a great experience and wish to give my thanks to everyone who was involved in the process for their kindness and professionalism.

Faultless. Friendly, welcoming, questions answered with compassion, speedily and clearly. I never felt lost. My anxieties were calmed. Not a bad word.

Very quick process, and when I did feel things were going slowly or I was worried, things got sorted out via email very quickly. Only downside was no signage in the Basingstoke treatment rooms that I was in the right place, that was a bit distressing but I discussed it with my assessor. 10/10 experience, will recommend

My experience with skylight has been alright, confusing at times about what to do, theres been a lot of questions which muddled my brain but other than that, it was okay

Generally, good. More than good. On receipt of my report, I felt it could have been clearer. I still don’t fully understand if I’ve been given a diagnosis, or if it’s just a report sharing opinions of how I align with somebody who is autistic. That’s a bit confusing for me and doesn’t provide enough of a categoric answer to the question; am I autistic? Which is what I was looking for. After support has been non-existent, and I find that pretty frustrating.
