Mr Shamir Patel

Mr Shamir Patel is a CQC Registered Manager and Independent Clinical Pharmacist at Ready Health Private Medical Clinic in Standish. Bringing over 25 years of experience in the pharmacy profession, his background spans NHS and private healthcare, with clinical, operational and mentoring experience. At Ready Health, he leads prescribing services, provides advanced clinical consultations and supports digital health initiatives.

His areas of specialisation include weight management, including the prescribing of GLP-1 medications, minor illness management, dermatology, cardiovascular risk management, respiratory care and long-term condition optimisation. He also has a particular interest in expanding access to private health services within community settings.

During his career, Mr Patel has held senior roles across community pharmacies and primary care networks. He has also served as a Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP), mentoring independent prescribing trainees and supporting the development of clinical pharmacists.

His professional interests extend to research into the safe implementation of independent prescribing in community pharmacy, digital tools for medication adherence, clinical outcomes of weight management interventions and reducing health inequalities through accessible private services. Mr Patel has contributed to quality improvement initiatives and primary care audit work, including prescribing reviews and protocol development, and actively evaluates clinical services at Ready Health to support evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.

Mr Patel is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and Primary Care Pharmacy Association and is a mentor and DPP for NHS prescribing pathways.
