I am an experienced consultant cardiologist specialising in general paediatric cardiology.
My NHS work is undertaken at the world-renowned Birmingham Children’s Hospital. My sub-speciality interest is fetal cardiology, but I have wide experience in managing children of all ages — from newborn babies to young adults — with all forms of heart disease.
I have expertise in assessing and managing heart murmurs, fainting, palpitations, chest pain, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, arrhythmia (non-invasive), cardiac conditions that run in families, cardiac screening for ADHD and all forms of structural heart disease.
I have authored and co-authored several journal articles on topics in paediatric cardiology, and I have published chapters in books related to paediatric and fetal cardiology.

I undertook training in paediatrics in the West Midlands and the Oxford Deanery between 2006 and 2012. I became a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2007.
My training in Paediatric Cardiology began in Oxford, followed by training on the national training programme in Leicester, Birmingham Children's Hospital and the Evelina London Children's Hospital, where I undertook a Fetal Cardiology fellowship whilst continuing my training in general paediatric cardiology.
Dr Harris was very welcoming. He explored my son's history thoroughly, and provided - both verbally and through the clinical tests - clear and helpful information. He took a rounded view of my son's overall well-being and we never felt rushed or 'on the clock'. Thank you, Michael.

Thanks for letting me know. I hope I was able to help a little. All the very best.
Dr Harris has been incredibly understanding and thorough during what has been a difficult 6months. His communications are very efficient with clinical letters and is clear with the pathway forward, providing us with peace of mind, appointments/follow ups. The consistency has been so valuable to see Dr Harris at all of our appointments so far and we're exceptionally grateful for how he has welcomed my son each time into the consultation, making him relaxed and comfortable post assessment. Despite circumstances, my son looks forward to the appointments rather than being nervous. A wonderful Doctor. Thank you.
