I have been under the care of Professor Faiz for approximately 18 months, during which I underwent major and complex surgery performed by Professor Faiz himself. This followed almost two decades of severe inflammation in the bowels, which had resulted in a very aggressive disease with numerous complications. When I first met Professor Faiz, it quickly became clear that he had an exceptional understanding of the progressive nature of my condition, as well as its many intricacies and complications—far beyond any other consultant or surgeon I had previously spoken to. Professor Faiz was extremely thorough in conducting tests and assessments to gain a complete picture of my situation. He then developed a clear surgical plan, carefully considering the best approach while prioritising the elimination of all possible risks. Professor Faiz also collaborates with highly skilled and experienced colleagues, whom he involved at the appropriate stages of my care without hesitation. His secretary has likewise been outstanding and extremely helpful. On several occasions after surgery, I was able to contact her and receive a prompt response from Professor Faiz, which greatly helped to alleviate my concerns. In addition to being exceptionally talented in his field, Professor Faiz is also deeply caring. He understands the human aspect of living with complex conditions and the profound impact they can have on people’s lives. In summary, Professor Faiz is a highly experienced and skilled surgeon who prioritises minimising risk and achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients. He is supported by an excellent team. I feel extremely fortunate and grateful to have met Professor Faiz during what was a very challenging and worrying time, and I could not have asked for better care.

I had my surgery performed 4 weeks ago, at Spire St Anthony's Hospital, by Mr Ian Hunt. On the afternoon of the surgery date, he went through everything and confirmed a few things. I was extremely nervous and I worked myself up before the surgery. Mr Hunt and his anaesthetist, Dr Dassen Ragavan really reassured me and put me at ease. Mr Hunt is very much needed in this world., he is an absolute treasure. When I was in the recovery room after surgery, he visited my wife and daughter, and let them know that it was successful and everything went well. When I was back in my room, he visited us again and explained what happened. Even though it was a very stressful day for him, he was still smiling. He visited me every day during my stay. I am so grateful to be one of his patients and I await having my left side operated on by him for my slipping rib syndrome. Thank you so, so much.

From the beginning, Mr. Lawrence has been hugely approachable, friendly and reassuring; he gave me all the information I wanted/needed to know about my surgery and engendered in me a feeling of complete confidence that I was definitely in the safest of hands. Shortly before my surgery, Mr. Lawrence came to see me and although I was very nervous by then, never having had an operation in my life, he managed to make me feel a little more at ease, it was just somehow reassuring to have those few words with him. The administrative processes are not always easy to naviagate but the staff at the hospital are professional and helpful. Staff on reception seem well briefed on what information is needed from patients. Clinical staff - both on the wards and in the CT scanning teams were professional and reassuring. It would be useful - for people accompanying a patient for a procedure - to have some information about facilities available to them. I was at the hospital for 12 hours and the only way to get something to eat was to go out of the hopsital to buy it. It would have been helpful to have some catering available on site - if only by machine.

The surgery to remove my R breast and lymph nodes must have been exceptional. Given I was the last to be operated on, a full days list. As yet I have had no issues with the wound site and armpit. Beyond what I feel is tolerable with my skin, fluid etc. I have resumed all my previous activities-tennis, yoga, walking and art. Mr. Osman knew I was an artist and I was expecting nerve damage but I was lucky not to have had any issues with nerves as I say beyond the odd twinge. I like to believe that Mr Osmans skill must have played a large part in that outcome.

When I was recommended the Life Plus infusion I was shown a price list of 280 for members & 310 for non members & I agreed to proceed . When I paid I was charged 350 and told the price list I had been shown was an old one . The manager offered me £80 credit on any further treatment. Upon reflection I feel I should have been given the £40 reduction today . I also had to endure a neighbour listening to her phone message on loud speaker, when I asked her to use headphones she moved but proceeded to use her phone more quietly which was ok but not great .

I saw Dr Pavlidis for a procedure required for an angiogram. It then required a more complex angioplasty due to total occlusion of my coronary artery. On both procedures, Dr Pavlidis was very professional, sincere and clear. He explained clearly what was involved and risks and then followed up with personally coming over after the procedure and explaining the post procedure status and next steps. He is straight forward approach and to the point was what I appreciated.
