This was my second cataract operation by Mr Naylor. Whilst in theatre, it transpired that an additional procedure was required. Mr Naylor explained what was happening throughout, and I was thoroughly reassured. Mr Naylor saw me in person the following day (despite it being a weekend) to check that everything was ok with the eye. I can wholeheartedly recommend him.

I am 3 weeks post surgery to remove cateracts from both eyes and lens replacement under the care of Mr Naylor. The surgery on both eyes was done at the same time, with no problems. All aspects of the procedure were explained in a caring and professional manner. I am thrilled with the result and am so pleased I went ahead with this. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Naylor to others considering cateract surgery. Thank you

I have seen Mr. NAYLOR a total of 6 times of which two were for consultation only. However on all occasions the staff first Nuffield in York and later at Spire Healthcare in Hull were efficient, polite and informative.

I had early cataracts but with some significant symptoms with glare from low sun and less than perfect sight when driving at night. I chose Steve because I knew would give me an honest opinion as to whether there was enough cataract to warrant surgery. (even though going to see him involved a round trip of 400 miles) Really good initial consultation with great care given to all the measurements that need to be made to give best post-operative visual results. We discussed the type of intraocular lenses that would suit me best and I choose the Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) lens for both eyes in the expectation that this would give me good vision for distance and some basic near vision although I would have to wear glasses for reading small print. I elected to have surgery to both eyes under topical anaesthesia (drops alone) on the same day and despite some pre op anxiety on my part once I was on the table Steve's calm manner put me at ease and the surgery was uneventful. The following day my vision was very good and I resumed driving after 4 days. With both eyes open I have excellent distance vision (6/6) and good near vision (I can read a mobile phone without glasses) but I do need reading glasses for small print if the light is very poor or the print colour is sub-optimal. My difficulties with glare and driving at night have disappeared and bird spotting is a lot easier. I am delighted with the result.

I recently saw Mr Steven Naylor regarding an eye issue and was very pleased with the care I received. He listened carefully to my concerns and, thankfully, reassured me about the problems I’m facing. The advice given was clear, sensible, and extremely helpful, and he steered me away from unnecessary further treatment that I had initially thought would be best. I felt well supported throughout the appointment, and everything was explained in a way that was easy to understand. I would highly recommend Mr Naylor
